No Such Thing as an Atheist
Many of you have already seen this, but for those who haven't, here it is. The quote comes from Ray Comfort's Living Waters site.
There's no such thing as an atheist.
quoting The declaration "There is no God" is what is known as an absolute statement. For an absolute statement to be true, I must have absolute knowledge.
Here is another absolute statement: "There is no gold in China."
What do I need to have for that statement to be true?
A. No knowledge of China.
___ YES ___ NO
B. Partial knowledge of China.
___ YES ___ NO
C. Absolute knowledge of China.
___ YES ___ NO
"C" is the correct answer. For the statement to be true, I must know that there is no gold in China, or the statement is incorrect. To say "There is no God," and to be correct in the statement, I must be omniscient.
I must know how many hairs are upon every head, every thought of every human heart, every detail of history, every atom within every rock...nothing is hidden from my eyes...I know the intimate details of the secret love-life of the fleas on the back of the black cat of Napoleon's great-grandmother. To make the absolute statement "There is no God." I must have absolute knowledge that there isn't one.
Let's say that you have an incredible 1% of all the knowledge in the entire universe. Is it possible, that in the knowledge you haven't yet come across, there is ample evidence to prove that God does indeed exist?
If you are reasonable, you will have to say, "Having the limited knowledge that I have at present, I believe that there is no God." In other words, you don't know if God exists, so you are not an "atheist," you are what is commonly known as an "agnostic." You are like a man who looks at a building, and doesn't know if there was a builder.
There ya go. No such thing as an atheist.
--- I know who saved my soul and I want this world to know, that I was once blind, once lost, Now I'm blood bought, reconciled to God by the blood He shed on the cross. -Eternal M.o.G.

Re: No Such Thing as an Atheist
One thing I've always thought about Atheist is.... how can you try to prove something doesn't exist, discuss what doesn't exist, if it doesn't exist?
They know He exists.... because God put it in them to know. They're just denying it, denouncing it, trying to get rid of it. The bible says, "there will be no excuse".
Saying, "I don't believe" is a poor excuse.

Re: No Such Thing as an Atheist
I really feel sorry for people with the atheist belief system. They are traveling a very dangerous road. winkks was right, Romans 1:20 Clearly tells us that God has revealed himself to us, therefore men are without excuse. It is impossible to accept with your heart what your mind rejects and they have completely closed their minds to the existence of God. Winkks said how can you try to prove something doesn't exist and that is a good point, I say WHY try to prove something doesn't exist, unless there is a Knowledge of that something that they have and are afraid of. Jesus tells us in John 17:17 that God's Word is Truth. The agenda of the atheist belief system is "self" and we all know that doesn't work. May God allow these people to accept what he has revealed to us and what Jesus has taught us. TRUTH!

Re: No Such Thing as an Atheist
I asked a youth pastor once why someone would be so adamant to insist that there is no God, and be insistent that I am a fool for believing so.
Why can't the atheist just let me have my belief and not be so insistent that I am wrong?
His take was this. People who want to deny the existence of God fear that they will be held accountable for their own sin (if there truly is a God). If they can get everyone else to deny God's existence they won’t have to feel guilty for their sin.
--- Peace, that brief period in history when everyone stops to reload.
