What is your message?

You know.... the first time this question came to my mind was from a statement Pastor Rick made (un-aware), and the statement was;... "their message is always the same".
When I read that it felt like something came flying across the room and hit me upside my head, hehe, a heavenly tennis shoe? I think so!
I got to thinking, 'what's my message... that's always the same'.

Some of the messages that are always the same have come to my mind. Some are of the world, some are Christians without a clue, some are Christians who are mature in Christ. No matter, each one always, always has its own message.... that's the same. We could also think of these as "fruits" of the spirit.

Now what I have here is only my thoughts on the matter and what I have observed in others as much as myself. What I say, my opinion, is merely heresies, it is not the gospel. So please keep that in mind while reading and hopefully examining yourself by asking yourself, "what's my message?".

The Self Centered Whiner;...
Complains over and over and over about how others treat them, have treated them in the past, what everyone in their whole life has said and done to hurt them.
Their message is always the same, issue after issue after issue.
(This is also "corrupt communication") The bible warns us of this.

The Encourager;...
Always there for you. Helps you with kind words from the heart and shares scriptures to show you how God is working in your life whether you know it or not. They pray for you and are sincere in all their efforts to help guide you in the direction of the true gospel of Christ.
Their message is always the same, love.

Truth Speaker;...
His/her message is always the same, "the hard facts of the gospel, (truth) whether you like it or not, believe it or not, it's still the truth. They are always happy to tell the good news that Jesus saves! They will share the hard facts they themselves have faced and how they came to know the truth.
They will give scriptures to back up what they say and they always say something to help in questioning yourself and where you are in Christ.
Their message is always the same, truth.

The Dictator;...
They know the gospel but disregard mercy, compassion and the simple facts of the transformation taking place in each and every one of us. They are stepping on God's toes, going over his head to enforce the gospel as though it's the law. The gospel of Christ frees us from laws and it's forceful nature of ritualistic idolatry.
Their message is always the same, their own truth.

The Peace Maker;...
They will do most anything to keep peace in the home and those dear to them. They are extreme in self sacrifice for the sake of others. They love honesty and truth and this governs their daily living. Their spiritual adrenaline kicks in when the pressure is on, and when the pressure is on they're at their best. Hope is what shines through the peace maker.
Their message is always the same, peaceful.
====

In examining myself I pray that my message is one of peace and truth. Truth over any sacrifice, because love is greater than all and truth is love. I pray that my message is always the same. I pray my message ministers grace unto the hearer.

Feel free to add a message!

The Self Centered Whiner;...

I have been trying to years not to be this person. With help from God I am starting to give it up. But not completely.

Thanks for posting this Winkks. I guess I really need to think about what my message really is (and not what I would like it to be).

Oh Thanks! Aint y'all just the sweetest thangs?!! Hehe.

Brother brite, I would never have thought that about you. As a matter of fact, I don't think that's your message. That aint the message "I" get from you anyway.

As far as being a "whiner" we're all guilty of that now and then.
To me your message is "peace", and your message is always the same!

To take some of our weaknesses, that we all have, and implement that as our message is not what I had in mind here.
I have quiet a few weaknesses, but that's not my message. My message is what governs me.
Take Paul for example;... one of my favorite scriptures is where he says something like, "I do what I don't want to do and what I want to do I don't do". We can only imagine what that could be, hehehe, but one thing we do know is.... his message! It was always the same, and his message was the gospel of Christ and instructions for daily living.

He surely had a thorn in his side and weaknesses, he was human and shared his human ways with us, praise God!

If our message is "fear" then we are governed by fear. This is what I'm talk'in about.

I see brother gary's message as "encourager"! And it's always the same.

I see Brother mel's as "truth speaker". Always the same!

I could go on and on with everyone here, but aint got time, hehe.

emoticon I like that one! emoticon

I also like that quote from Paul. I find that happening to me a lot - we're constantly at war with our sinful nature.

I would certainly agree with both of those. I think others around us, can often see our message much clearer than we can see our own. (case in point, see what Winkks said below)

That is only because of the spirit of the Lord working in me. I can take no credit for that myself. Before I accepted Christ into my life, I was completely self-centered, pessimistic, depressed, and angry (don't believe me, just ask Java). I still am many of those things at times (often it seems they are just below the surface). But with the help of Christ I have come to recognize many of those things and give them up.

More proof that the Holy Spirit is at work. Praise God!!

Winkks you are also a great encourager, much like brother Gary.

Hubby says almost the exact same thing! Praise God!!
It's amazing what the world can do to us when we're attached to it, but it's a miracle what God can do when we attach ourselves to Him!

We bless one another when we share. Thank you!
To God be the glory! He is so worthy of our praise!
