Angel Myth
I had heard of this before but didn't think anyone truly believed it. However there seems to be a popular myth that humans will be turned into angels when they get to heaven.
There is a few bible verse that might seem to support this (at least on the surface).
Luke 20:34-36 Jesus replied, "The people of this age marry and are given in marriage. But those who are considered worthy of taking part in that age and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry or be given into marriage, and they can no longer die: for they are like the angels..."
But if we look closely at this we see that Jesus said we would be like the angels, not that we would become angels.
There are also these verses
Hebrews 3:14 Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?
and also Jesus said to the condemned man on the cross next to him
Luke 23:43 Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise."
Jesus said you not some angelic form of yourself.
Any thoughts/corrections?
--- Peace, that brief period in history when everyone stops to reload.

Re: Angel Myth
I think this comes from TV shows and comics that say you become an angel when you die.
The Scripture is clear though, angels are entirely different beings.
How would you like to become one of those Serephim, with eyes all over their entire bodies and three sets of wings?

Re: Angel Myth
How can we become Angels after we die, if we are suppose to even judge them?
1 Corinthians 6
1 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unrighteous, and not before the saints? 2 Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? 3 Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life? (NKJV)

When I first started reading this, that scripture came to my mind. I'm glad you posted it BeSaved, now I don't have to look it up! Hehe. Praise the Lord!
The angels are "under" us yet they minister to us.
I have a book from Billy Graham called "Angels", and I love that book. I can just here him talking while I'm reading. He gives numerous accounts of angels amongst us. We are not to worship them or give them any praise what so ever, because we are more valuable than they. Jesus died for us, not them. They were made to be angels, we were made in His image! Halleluiah!!!

Re: Angel Myth
quoting Thanks Besaved, I was hoping someone would post that.
BTW where have you been Saved? Seems like we haven't heard from you in over a week.
You're welcome.
I've been peeking in now and again. I haven't been feeling well. Thanks for asking!
