Difficult Questions... and Some Answers
Here's a place to post them. Of course, some of the answers will be "I don't know."
But there are known answers for many of the common questions people have. Like this one:
How could one Man, suffer for a few hours on a cross and save all mankind from eternal hell?
This might seem like a difficult question, but it's actually quite simple.
Because He is worth more than all of Creation combined!
And keep in mind, it wasn't the physical suffering that saved us, but the wrath of the Father poured out - the wrath that we deserve, taken for us by Him that had no sin.
This is why He cried out, "Father, why have You forsaken Me?" He had lived a perfect life, in perfect communion with the Father, never outside of His will, doing nothing on His own, but only what the Father showed Him. And then that bond was broken as He took on the sin of the world - your sin, my sin - the "white" lies that you've told, the lust in your heart, the evil selfish thoughts we've all had - paid for by the One who was innocent and the only One that could pay for them - God Himself.
What incomprehensible great love!
And if you believe you're a pretty decent person, that your sins aren't really all that bad, consider if we could take a video clip of your mind, your innermost secret thoughts and play them for the whole world to see. Seriously consider how that would feel. And without Christ, that clip will be played before God on Judgment Day and you'll get exactly what you deserve.
So will everyone else. Yet, it's not for them, primarily that we proclaim the Gospel. That would be humanism. No, we don't do it for people, although we love them. We work for Jesus, and He loves them more.
May the Lamb that was slain receive the reward of His suffering.
That's you ... and me. And all that He calls to Himself through us. Go and be obedient to the command of the Great Commission.
--- I know who saved my soul and I want this world to know, that I was once blind, once lost, Now I'm blood bought, reconciled to God by the blood He shed on the cross. -Eternal M.o.G.
