Compassion
Should compassion be shown even to those, who cannot show it themselves?

Re: Compassion
I would say, in general, yes.
Do you have something specific in mind?

Re: Compassion
I would say yes too. As it is the sick that need the doctor, not the well.
However, would that mean we should should compassion to Satan?

Re: Compassion
No, Satan is past redemption, as revealed in the Bible. The compassion we should have is for other humans.
Ephesians 6:12
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Re: Compassion
Well, maybe the reason he is so evil is because no one shows him compassion? This all go backs to the nature vs nurture debate. Most psychologist, even the ones on the nature side, believe that nurture has at least some part to play in how one turns out. Let us look at Lucifer, he has been in Hell for centuries with absolutely no compassion from anyone. 'Twould be enough to turn almost anyone evil...now, I am sure some very extensive therapy would probably be best for him, but since I do not see him agreeing to that, perhaps a bit of pity would be a good start?

Re: Compassion
Well, the major flaw in that logic is that psychology deals with the wellness of the human mind, and Lucifer was never human.
Besides you are assuming that his stay in hell has "turned" Lucifer evil. Was it not his rebellion against God what got him cast into hell in the first place?

Re: Compassion
Job 1:7 And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
He is not in hell yet. He is still seeking here on earth who he may destroy. The Bible tells us when satan will be cast into hell...read Revelation 20.
