hello, its me
........where to start  ....ok, how bout straight out. I had a mole removed from my back last Thurs. Got the dreaded call, the big C word came from her mouth, it just didn't seem real you know , it happens to them but not to me.
She went on to say it was stage 4 Melanoma . I go tomorrow to a cancer surgeon/ specialist to weigh my options.
I told a friend today it was hard to ask for prayers for myself, but i'm asking on my behalf for Gods will, for this to be used somehow for his glory. Thank you in advance, will update later.

Bro. Gary, I don't know where to begin to maybe help you but I do understand what you are going through at this time.
Seven years ago my sister (2 Years younger then me) and I were diagnosed with a cancerous tumor on the very same day. I was 52 and she 50, but of course my Mother went bannannas with worry. My sister was in Houston and I up here in Llano Texas. Both doctors said it is just a tumor at this point but we always assume cancer until we prove otherwise, and we get it out as quick as we can. So they both were scheduling surgery for us and I went in to my doctor on a Tuesday expecting to have surgery the next week when he looked at my chart and saw I had a heart attack in 1985 and asked about it. Anyway the decision was made that I had to have a stress test before surgery and they would schedule one right away. I left and came back to my office.
About an hour later I got a call from his nurse who told me that they could not get me a stress test for two weeks and I asked her if she had told the doctor that and she assured me that she had. I hung up called my wife and was telling her and I went bannannas exclaiming "I can't wait two weeks, it has to be done now." There was just no way I could wait and allow this to spread. I hung up from talking to her and I was still ranting about not waiting. I was all alone in my office with my fear, and self pity, ranting and raving when a small calm clear voice said "What's the matter Jnior? Don't you think that I can take care of this for you?" I said "OK Lord I understand now and I will leave it in your hands."
I called the doctors nurse back and told her do what ever they needed to do and I would wait on them. I had the stress test two weeks later, then they sent me to an internist, he checked the findings from the stress test and all my check ups, looked at all my old records and started me on a different medicine for my heart and I had surgery almost six weeks later. We had postponed my surgery from the original expected date by almost two months. In the meantime my sister had surgery right away. While in recovery she had a heart attack (she never had one before) it ruptured her surgical site and she was bleeding very badly. The nurse finally got the bleeding stopped and they took care of the heart attack.
Her cancer was on the outside of her right kidney, and attached to the aorta and urinary tract. They could not get it all. Since then she has had two more surgeries, two bouts of regular chemo, one experimental chemo, and is now on another experimental medicine. But she is still fighting it and even though the doctors say there is no cure and no surgery could ever get it all, so she can only hope for them to keep it at bay until a cure can be discoverd. It is supposedly the fastest growing, most aggressive cancer there is and she says if this experimental stuff doesn't help her at least maybe it will help some one else down the line by what they learn from her. That my brother, is a true Christian out look on her situation.
Oh and my cancer was the same thing but it was all contained within my right kidney, so the took the kidney and got all the cancer. I missed three weeks work, and didn't preach for two weeks but then I was right back doing what needed to be done. I have had no reoccurance and I don't believe I ever will because "He that is within me is stronger then all the world or worlds."
My point Bro. Gary is this. Turn it all iover to GOD and trust Him to take care of it. It is outside your power and all the worry in the world won't help but GOD is the one that gives all the doctors their knowledge and HE will comfort you if you let HIM!! Turn it all over to HIM and then wait paitently on HIS WILL and TIMING!!!

Gary there is really even more to this story but this is the short version and I can only say that if I can help you in any way just send me a private message and I will get back with you.; I will naturally be praying for you and your family during this but I cannot emphasize enough that you have to let GOD handle it as I know you will.
Father God I come before Your Throne and I lift up to You Bro. Gary and his family. Father I ask that You give Gary and his family a peace during all this worry and let them know that You are in Charge and that with You nothing is impossible. I ask that You guide the minds and hands of all of Gary's caregivers so that he gets the very best care available and if it is Your Will then heal Gary and make him completely well abnd healthy. Father I ask all these things in the name of Your Son, Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. AMEN!!!!

Thanks to all of you, i had been wrestling with satan over this, but today i could actually feel the prayers, i was siting there driving my wife crazy and all the sudden at almost 3 pm i was like a rain flowing off, and i told my wife "its gone now"
The apt with the Dr was very good, he was upbeat and explained just because it was a level 4 wasn't any reason not to be optimistic, esp where it was on my back, being the thick part, he said if a level 4 is on your face would mean very very very serious.
So the merry go round begins with apts. here and there and hopefully the actual surgery next week.
And junior that story was encouraging esp this part " My point Bro. Gary is this. Turn it all iover to GOD and trust Him to take care of it. It is outside your power and all the worry in the world won't help but GOD is the one that gives all the doctors their knowledge and HE will comfort you if you let HIM!!
