Homeless
Well, I finally gathered enough courage, and have officially terminated my church membership.
If you have a spare second it would be great if you could pray that the Staybrite family could find a good bible based church home that will preach the gospel.

 We'll be praying for you! There's gotta be a good one around there somewhere. 
When we decided to search for another church, we just started going to different ones each Sunday, and asking some friends where they were going.
When we finally found the right one, we knew it right away.

Thanks for the encouragement brother.
We have made a list of most of the churches in our area (eliminating all the ones using the "seeker friendly" model). And will start our systematic search church by church here in a few weeks.
Very excited about it.

Hate to hear this stay...I don't know if you remember or not, but I left my home church April 07....That's right.. a year ago. I still have not found a Church and have visited many in my community...I live in the Bible belt, There are at least a hundred here. My daughter has found her a great youth group and is very active, ( I am soooo thankful) but I don't like the church myself. (nothing wrong with the teachings) Its held at the High school and I feel like I'm in a seminar, not a Church service.
Anyway..I'll be praying that you and your family find a good Church....If you don't mind say one for me too. You too mel.

 Hey, what are you doing with a smite? I'm the only one that's supposed to have negative "karma."
Somebody smite me before Free catches up! 
Here's for both of you, I don't know if you'll find one near you, but I've been happy with my church, which is part of the Evangelical Church of America. Here's their site, and they have a church locator on there. I can't guarantee that each of them is as good as the one I'm in, but check it out if there's one near by.

Oh Free, really sorry to hear that brother, I will be praying for you.
Your not looking for one of those "perfect" churches are you? I like waht John MacArthur said, even if we could find a perfect church it would be ruined if we went to it. Kind of puts it in a different perspective. I hope you are finding some way to fellowship with other Christ followers.

Oooooo how strange is that. The first church on our list of prospects is an Evangelical Free church just the next town over from us.
I would smite you both just to make you happy, but I don't think that really counts, think I will just applaud you instead.

You make a very good point stay and in all honesty I think I was very guilty of looking for that perfect church as you say or maybe I should say a church that went along with exactly what I believe. Since my search began, I have come to my senses and realize I am not going to find a Church that agrees with every little thing I believe. Thinking I could was stupid on my part. (emphasis on my). I have narrowed my search to two Churchs in my area. That's a good thing. 
Most of my friends are Christian and my Theology Course is still going on. I am also taking a Bible course, so all of this keeps me in good company/fellowship with other Christians and keeps me in the Word....EVERYDAY.

Free, very glad to hear you are keeping fellowship with other believers.
What ever happened with your band? (did you know Mel has a drum set now?)
