Obama's Pastor
Don't know if any of you care or are keeping an eye on whats happening with Obama.... But man have you seen the tape of his Pastor's one sermon. where he says -GD America like 3 times in a row? Ah hello! "Thu shell not take the lords name in vain"? I'm not the sharpest tool in the shade but how can he call him self a christian? spouting crap like that? And no don't go telling me I'm judging him like a family member of mine did yesterday. I'm just stating a fact and asking a question.
what do you think?

Re: Obama's Pastor
I had looked at his church before, and it kinda scares me.
It seems to be more about being black than it does about being Christian.
Trinity United Church of Christ
quoting About Us
We are a congregation which is Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian... Our roots in the Black religious experience and tradition are deep, lasting and permanent. We are an African people, and remain "true to our native land," the mother continent, the cradle of civilization. God has superintended our pilgrimage through the days of slavery, the days of segregation, and the long night of racism. It is God who gives us the strength and courage to continuously address injustice as a people, and as a congregation. We constantly affirm our trust in God through cultural expression of a Black worship service and ministries which address the Black Community.
Now I don't have a problem with being "unashamedly black", that's fine. But what does it have to do with Christianity? If a white man were "unashamedly white" there'd be a racist problem, wouldn't there?
Let's keep in mind that there is only ONE race - the human race.
And yeah, if a "pastor" is cursing from the pulpit, there's a serious problem, and I would question whether it was truly Christian or not.
As far as "judgement" goes, I'll have to go and bring an old thread up.

I would have to completely agree with all of that.
There intro video mentions them being a "black congregation" several more times that it affirms they are follows of God and His word. Makes me wonder what their true motives might be.
And I would definately be suspect of any Christian (pastor or otherwise) who would blaspheme the Lord's Name.

Re: Obama's Pastor
Got another email on Obama today.
Wow. If this guy is elected, it really will be an "Obama-nation" quoting Subject: Obama Explains National Anthem Stance
Hot on the heels of his explanation for why he no longer wears a flag pin, presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama was forced to explain why he doesn't follow protocol when the National Anthem is played.
According to the United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171, During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart.
"As I've said about the flag pin, I don't want to be perceived as taking sides," Obama said. "There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression. And the anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all. It should be swapped for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song 'I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing.' If that were our anthem, then I might salute it." "I don't think my church is actually particularly controversial." - Barack Obama.
Oh my! This made me want to curse!
Check out this LINK from Snopes.
"I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing"?? Are you kidding me?

Re: Obama's Pastor
You can witness it in this video as well where he refuses to acknowledge our country's national anthem. (it is a short one at just under one minute).
Obama & the National Anthem
As a veteran & a patriot, I must confess that this type of behavior sickens me.
