Check this out
This really has alot to say on what sort of impact one person can make, and how we should all perservere even when it seems that we make no difference to the world around us whatsoever.

Re: Check this out
That's awesome! I've heard it before, but I never get tired of it. I've burned it to CD.

Re: Fear God, not man
You know I ought to give you a big old long lecture on how easy we have it here in America. No one chopping off our heads, torturing or killing us for witnessing. Our persecution is rather light compared to other places.
Instead, I'll leave you a couple of Scriptures. The last command Jesus left for His followers, the Great Commission:
Matthew 28:19-20
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
And one from the OT, telling us how we will be held accountable:
Ezekiel 33:8-9
When I say to the wicked, 'O wicked man, you will surely die,' and you do not speak out to dissuade him from his ways, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood. But if you do warn the wicked man to turn from his ways and he does not do so, he will die for his sin, but you will have saved yourself.
And then go listen to a couple of Paul Washer sermons. That oughta about do it!
Now then, go find that first ONE!

Re: Check this out
I don't mean to sound condemning, as it might seem in that previous post, just trying to give an encouraging nudge to everyone of you that reads this thread.
Fear has got to be one of Satan's best tools. I could listen to Ray Comfort, Mark Cahill and Paul Washer all week, be all fired up and ready to preach the Word boldly as I ought to. But then, as I'm on my way to the fishing spot, fear and indecision sets in. What am I afraid of? I'm not really sure. I won't have an answer for something, or I'll say something wrong and look foolish?
And many times, I've chickened out, handed out a few tracts but never stepped up to the mic, and on the way home, my confidence returns, and I think, "I'll be ready next time", but the cycle repeats itself.
You've gotta break out of it, it's not that bad. Just make progress, even if it's slow. I'm making very slow progress, but progress nonetheless. And if I can do it, any fool can!!
It gets easier each time, and I've been on the mic every week for a while now.
I'm certainly not saying every Christian has to be preaching on the streets. But we all should be spreading the Gospel to people in some way. Tracts are easiest, you can just hand them to people and keep on going. There are even some specifically designed to just be left laying around for people to find. That's what I started with.
And prayer is essential! We need to keep in mind that we're not doing any of this on our own. We are allowed a great privilege to be used by God to draw others to Him.
To God alone be the glory!!

Re: Check this out
That reminds me of something my local radio station is sponsering, maybe some of you have something similar down there, but... for those of us who have the money, or for those who dont (like me lol) what they are doing is drive thru thursdays, where every thurs a ton of people who listen to the radio station go out and what they will do is pay for the order behind them and leave sort of a tract, adn it has a phone number and the radio station for those who have questions... and some of the people who get these will call into the radio station and they will play the calls on the air and it is just a really cool thing to listen to, and to just see how something so simple really can make a difference.

Re: Check this out
Aw, c'mon, it'll be good for ya!
Take Skys' idea, then! We don't have a radio station sponsoring it, but once in a while I have some extra cash somehow, and I'll do that.
