It's just the chorus of Invaders that utterly turns me off- sounds like it was cut and pasted from a Manowar album. You're right though- the first two albums have a more exuberant, youthful feel- totally fresh wheras their later stuff sometimes sound like they've been written to a formula (galloping bass lines and spandex clad leg on a monitor anyone....) and I must be one of the few that prefer Di'Anno's vocals to Bruce.
I'd never diss Maiden though- they are without doubt now the greatest of all British Institutions!
p.s. must change my name to prevent confusion with Infurnum (doh!)

I agree Diano was better, i do like Bruce and he definatly cornered that sound, it's just Maiden and thats it, you know them instantly. They used that formula like you say but it's worked for them. What a back catalogue!

Gotta go with KILLERS.....2nd and 3rd fav's would be "Somewhere in Time" and self titled.
