I found this a while ago but lost it! I just thought it was a great overview of the transition to Primary Colours, and all the ridiculous epiphets that the journos have come out with about it...

^ i think it's a good article, though it comes across in a thesis-y style at some points. it's better than the NME could manage, that counts for something in journalism right?

To me it's an essay, and should be in something like a journal, not a newspaper.
Look at any "quality" journalism, even if it's highbrow and analytical, it draws the reader in. This just makes me want to read something else.

yes, definitely more of a 'journal' pice - are there music journals though? it reminds me of something that would be in the london review of books.
he has pretty much hit the nail on the head though in my opinion, though his prose style is rather like not being able to see the wood for the trees..
