Animal Collective -- Strawberry Jam
So, 'parently Animal Collective has a new CD out, I found out last night. I don't know if anyone here listens to Animal Collective--I think their brilliant but haven't enough musical knowledge to really back up any of my statements--but in case they have, a review would be nice!
Mmm, sweet, syrupy Strawberry Jam...

Haven't heard it, but I'm not a big fan. I listened to Feels a few times and kinda liked it, but not enough to make me want to get anything else of theirs. Grant might listen to them though. I'm not sure.

Yep, I have given it a few listens, as I do with all of their albums as they come out. I cannot stand them. Just like Xiu Xiu their sound grates on me. I had a few songs I liked on their Feels album and I find parts of their songs I enjoy immensly and then suddenly they toss in a scream or screech and I lose the mood.
I know alot of people love them, and pitchfork gave it a whopping 9.3. Since you said you liked them I would then whole heartedly recommend it. They continue to refine their sound and it seems everyone who liked them anyway loved the crap out of this new one. I am sad I missed them in OKC a few weeks ago, I think they play the type of show I would really dig, alas I shall have to await their return.

Yeah, well, Pitchfork also loved the hell out of Arcade Fire's Neon Bible album, so I don't consider them all that trustworthy.
Not that that has anything to do with Animal Collective. It's just a slam!! on Pitchfork.

I like slamming pitchfork. I take everything they say with a pound of salt....but I mean usually when you already like a band and they give said band's new album a great review it tends to bode well.
