Re: Current Favorite Songs of All Time
Ever get a really random song stuck in your head?
Assassin by Muse "Whatever they say, these people are torn! Wild and bereft! Assassin is born!"
From both songs I've heard of them, Muse seems to be stereotypical rebellion against the government. But hey, what can I say? It's a catchy song! (And it doesn't hurt that I can hit 97% lyrics on it, no small feat with World Tour's crap lyrics system.)
Comatose by Skillet "I don't wanna sleep! I don't wanna dream! 'Cause my dreams don't comfort me the way you make me feel!"
I don't even have to explain that one. In addition to being the most face-melting Christian band I can think of, their songs are what rock used to be and should be. My only complaint is that their guitarist does not take enough liberties with solos. He could shred with the best of them if he wanted to!

Re: Current Favorite Songs of All Time
All We Are by Matt Nathanson (I just had to post this whole thing. I think it's just pretty profound and poetic. It's very mellow and it's acoustic, so that means that it really makes me feel or I'd hate it. You should go hear it to get the full effect.)
"Tasted, tasted love so sweet,
And all of it was lost on me
Bought and sold like property
Sugar on my tongue.
Kept falling over,
kept looking backward.
Went broke believing,
That the simple should be hard.
All we are, we are,
All we are, we are.
Every day is the start of something beautiful.
I wasted, wasted love for you.
Trading out for something new.
Well its hard to change the way you lose,
If you think you never won.
Because all we are, we are,
And all we are, we are.
Every day is the start of something beautiful.
And in the end,
The words won't matter.
'Cause in the end,
Nothing stays the same.
And in the end dreams just scatter
And fall like rain.
'Cause all we are, we are,
All we are, we are.
and every day is the start of something beautiful
Something real
Because all we are, we are,
And all we are, we are.
And every day is the start of something beautiful
Beautiful."
A part of the song (I think verse two) was played at the end of an NCIS episode, which is how I heard it. It's kind of a sad moment where Tony opens a letter from a girl who was seemingly made for that says "I'm not coming back. You need to choose." He tosses the letter in a fireplace, and the image of the letter burning in the fireplace is a great moment emphasized with the song.

Re: Current Favorite Songs of All Time
And you make fun of me for getting my songs from television? Hypocrite.

Re: Current Favorite Songs of All Time
Making fun of you and simply pointing it out are two very different things. If you can find a place where I actually teased you for it, I'll eat my words.

Re: Current Favorite Songs of All Time
I'm not even going to argue with you on this one, because it's pretty much obvious how ridiculous your statement was. You always tease me about everything.

Re: Current Favorite Songs of All Time
You can say that, but it doesn't make it true. I do tease you about every single freakin' thing, but I'm talking about this specifically.

Please read the above sentence and correct any improper spellings, misfit words, or sections that do not make sense.

Re: Current Favorite Songs of All Time
But yet you still haven't shown where I've made fun of you for that... I even joined in on the Space Oddity song! And I still like that commercial's cover better!
