haha good one Sarah.

Mine was actually really touching. I don't know if it's against some kinda of rule or something, but I wanna share it with all of you. So here it is:

"Dear Jason,
Never forget this week and what happened during it. You got closer to God. I hope you haven't strayed again. Janae is probably at college now. Don't forget to call her and let her know she's loved.
Unforgettable things that happened this week in Harlan, KY:
1)Praying with Janae
2)Covering prayer with Papa
3)Praying and singing in the streets
4)Ask the Lord: Ask God for signs and following them

Next week you will be going to FOCUS camp, but I'm sure it will be nowhere as meaningful as this. Remember to control your temper. Remember to thank the Lord often.
           You Truly,
           Jason Stansbury"

This letter was really great for me because as soon as I finished reading it, I called Janae, like the letter said, and told her what it said, about praying with her and letting her know she's loved. As soon as I told her, she started crying. Also,on the back, I wrote two verses that must have stuck out to me on the night we wrote the letters. They were both from Psalm 139(verses 14 and 23-24) and they seemed very relevent to my life still. The great part about the verses though, is that when I told Janae about them, she told me that just the week before she had been studying Psalm 139 in one of her classes and those EXACT verses stood out to her. I think that means something. I also wrote something on the back about Alec...I miss him...and all the other relationships I formed and strengthened that week. It was great.

Thats awesome, Jason. I love the parts about remembering to call Janae and reminding yourself to control your temper at FOCUS camp. You are amazing!

So, question. What makes praying in KY different than praying here? Do you think we can still do that?

I don't mean to interrupt this, but I had to point how completely out-of-character this is for Sarah. That's like, a really bad Ken joke. Or maybe a really bad Luke joke, but not you. I have half a mind to smite you (but I will probably get smote for saying that.)

Thats true, Kyle. I forget about that because I can't go back during service due to the whole singing thing.

Is praying on Sunday mornings like it was in Kentucky?

well, I obviously don't have the option of going into the boiler room and praying on sunday mornings, but I do have to go to meeting for worship (Quaker Church) which is like and hour of sitting silently so I do a lot of praying then. I also tend to do a lot of just spontaneous prayer. When my advisor came to tell me that i was failing 4 subjects right before my basketball game, I sat right down on the bench and started praying. One of the coaches thought I was meditating, but whatever. That's how prayer is different for me now. And notic that all the prayer I mentioned down there was in special circumstances like with Janae or in the streets, because everything was just so much more intense. Oh and as far as controling my temper, I meant all the time, not just at camp.

well, sometimes it's not and sometimes it is. when we are praying the whole time and just totally focus on God and His purpose. then there are times when we pray and talk about things in a lives that need discussed and that can be very good for all involved. if you talk to another christian about what the problem is it helps a lot. there's the low down...

I think that praying in the boiler room isn't as INTENSE as it was down in Kentucky, but it isn't less meaningful. To me, at least. I think that we need to keep working on it and trying to pursue what God wants us to do with it, because something like that is easy to just do and not...try to grow at.

I've found that growing in prayer is weird, and there isn't much said about it.

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't trying to say that we should judge meaning based on intensity, just that that is how it was different in Kentucky. I think that was a question posed by Beth and I was just trying to answer it. I definitely wouldn't say our prayer is less meaningful just because of that. Every prayer is meaningful if it is heart-felt. And I think I tend to find my own meaning in prayer. When FCT Club is praying, I find it more meaningful to me because I hear people praying for the first time in public (or maybe in their life) and I feel inspired and almost giddy because I feel like something really good is happening. You know?

I love that kind of stuff. When we pray in youth group sometimes I feel like that when I hear some of the teens pray. Just that God is doing something cool and building their confidence and relationship with Him.
