Yeah. One of my favorite prayer moments was when a bunch of us were back in the prayer room and Jason N prayed about me and how I was really growing and how he liked being able to see that. That just really lifted my spirit because it's one thing when YOU see change in yourself, but it's a completely different thing when someone else sees it.

I didn't mean to sound like I thought you were wrong, Jason, I was just replying to Beth's question with your answer in mind. I agree with you totally.

I wouldn't mind even if you did think i was wrong, sarah. I can take it when people disagree with me. It tends to happen. Thanks for clearing that up tho.

Re: Favorite thing about KY

hey guys it's Janae...so I have something that may be encouraging to this topic of prayer.

first off I think that one of the main reasons why prayer was so intense and amazing in KY is because Pappa had so much faith and passion in his prayers. Seeing his faithful spirit encouraged us to really believe in what we were saying. Plus that whole week we were completely focused on God and all the aspects of worshiping God, from prayer to evangelism. Unfortunetly when we get back into our routines and aren't somewhere else making sure we are focused we get destractions and sometimes that clouds our faith and causes us to forget about the person who gave us the things that are becoming destractions. If that makes sense.

I also feel that yes everyone should pray, but some people have been given the spiritual gift of prayer. They can pray for long periods of time and not run out of things to pray about. They have God as their complete focus and nothing else. I think some people are also good at knowing when prayer is needed at the right moment. Feeling and hearing God at the right moment and knowing that there is someone in need of prayer.

ok so time for the awesome story I have...sorry it is going to be long...

So two Sundays ago at church the worship leader, Shannon told us to pray and ask God to reveal to us something he wants us to say yes to. Something that we have been avoiding or saying no to. We then were asked to go up fron tot the stage when we knew it and write it on paper and tape it on the stage. I couldn't really think of one but really felt like the Lord wanted me to go up anyway. So I did. I went up got the pen and paper and God told me to write "say yes to what the world views as impossible". That was a pretty powerful statement and could have pertained to a lot of things in my life. So as they started the music and began the hour long music worship I just kept praying about it and asking God what the main reason for the message was. And I knew it was about my rhuematoid arthritis. So as I continued praying about it and asking the Lord what He wanted me to do I felt it on my heart that i was to ask for prayer. *side note*- my arthritis had been getting extremely painful and it was really hard for me to participate in some of my classes including keyboard harmony especially with my two fingers which were crippled fingers which I couldn't straighten..anyway. So after the music we always have a fellowship time before the message, so during that time I went up to Joy who is the pastoral care at the school for the girls and told her what had happened during worship. Her and I had talked about me getting prayer someday because she really felt I was going to be healed, and we decided that day had come.
So after fellowship was done Three other ladies had gotten a message form God, one was on faith, one was a vision of a lion eating with a warthog not knowing his own strength and that he could eat the warthog if he wanted to, and the third was on hope, and they all three fit really well with my testimony and need of prayer. I then got up and gave a little testimony of my arthritis and aske for prayer. Ken who is the president of the school and goes to my church, got up and asked if anyone wanted to come up to pray for me. I thought it was just going to be him, his wife and the pastor, but after he said thet over half of the congregation got up and rushed down around me to pray. I was so moved by almost all the visible school students, and people in the congregation I didn't even know coming down to pray for me. I had hand all over me. So many people were telling me of visions they got during worship and so many people praying for me. after everyone got done praying for me I really felt like it wasn't over and Joy didn't think so either so we left the service and went to the prayer room. Three other ladies followed us. One was a fellow student at school, one was an older lady who I absolutely love, and the third was somone who i had never met until that day. That third lady Robin grabbed my hand and said she really felt she was suppossed to pray for me but was to scared to during the service. So she prayed for me then in the prayer room. As she began to pray for me sh had one hand on top of mine and one underneath mine and the next thing I knew she started to flatten my hand and as I was about to scream, I realized she had pressed my crippled fingers down and I didn't feel pain. I began to cry uncontrolably and dropped tot he ground. Through my tears I explained to Robin what was going on. Joy and Hilary both had seen my fingers before started crying as well. I couldn't believe it all I had to do was have complete faith that yes God could heal me even though the world and my doctors said I would be crippled by 30. Everyday now I get up and I have hardly any pain. I can do things that i hadn't been able to do in a very long time because of my fingers hurting so much! It has been incredible!!!

The following sunday Joey, the pastor, had his sermon on me and what had happened. He explained that it wasn't some majical hocus pocus, but was God's plan meeting up with not only my faith and complete letting go of what had been bothering me, but also was about the congregation knowing what had to be done at that moment and putting all their faith in prayer and in God

sorry that was really long, but I really wanted to share!!

Odd. My Dad's sermon just on the touch of God, one point of which was the Touch of Healing. Now, as he said, most healing in the name of God is bogus healing for the "healer" to gain glory, but God still heals to this day. I believe based on what you said and how you feel I believe the former is not the case. I am glad that you experienced that! Granted, I would've been incredibly uncomfortable (like I was in Kentucky most of the time, if nobody had noticed) but God can be reached in a whole host of ways, all of them valid. A praise for sure.

That is really cool. It's a wonder anyone doubts God's power.
