THE MAFIA HAVE WON!
It was a bit of a blowout, but here's what happened:
The mafia have reached a ratio of 3:1. That means there's no way that the citizens can win.
NEWS BULLETIN: Jason S. was found dead in his home. The sheriff, dead on the ground, a bottle of Sunny D in his hand, was taken to a toxin screening lab after the suggestion by the mortician. It was then revealed that the drink had been laced with horrific Strychnine poison. The poison was discovered by the mortician, who just so happens to have a keen interest in rare, painful toxins.
Since the game is over, everyone's positions are now revealed. In case you haven't figured it out, all three Mafia roles went to the three siblings. I debated changing it, but random means random.
1. Sarah (Godfather)
2. Kyle (Thug)
3. Laura (Doctor)
4. Chris (Insomniac)
5. Luke (Mafia)
6. Jason S. (Sheriff)
7. Beth (Mafia)
In any case, next game we'll have 8, with Weasal, and in an attempt to re-balance the game (considering this is the first time I've ever seen less than 12 play) there will only be two mafia members next game.
Of course, that'll have to wait. I'm going to New York City for a few days, so you'll all have to wait 'till I get back. The next game won't have its own thread, so you can just keep checking this one. I'll let you know when it'll begin, same drill as before.

I must not be very good at this game. After Kyle and Chris died (and i had asked Josh about Laura cuz i was the sheriff) I knew exactly who the mafia was, but i didnt know what to do about it. I think i'll start getting it better once more people start playing and we've played more games.

Being the sheriff you're in a very tough position. If you tell everyone you're the sheriff, the mafia will off you. They have nothing to lose because the worst they can do is accidentally kill the thug. (The mafia know all the other mafia members.) If you tell just one person, they could not trust you and believe you're the mafia, thus voting for you. Or you could accidentally have just PM'ed the mafia saying you're the sheriff.
It's all about knowing how to use your role, and yes, you'll get better over time. It's also good to try to get people to slip. Sarah and Beth got me to mess up. I mentioned the Doctor and used the word "she." Since all the other females were mafia members and knew it, that left Laura. It could've just been a coincidence, since if I'd said "he" you'd assume it could be either. It ended up not mattering, though, since they already voted to kill you, and you were the last one. Remember, nothing is off limits as far as getting people to spill the beans.
More people playing definitely lessens the impact of a single mafia killing and such. Hopefully having one less mafia member will do the same.

I guess you weren't serious about the no trace thing. In any case, this was before I slipped up about the Doctor role, so kudos to Sarah. Of course, you were wrong about her saving herself.
