Death into Life
This is based off of two things, a lesson about Lazarus by Ken and a sermon from Pastor Dirk about a parable in Luke 6. I hope you like..
When Death becomes Life
What are we now?
Lazarus still in his wrappings
Stench of the grave stuck to his skin
What are we doing today
But the deeds of yesterdays death and decay
What are we now?
An orchard, dying and bitter
Our trees bearing nothing but dead leaves and shame
Whose is the face that I see
In the mirror that echoes our words and our deeds?
--What will become of the one in the grave?
Death or Life? What shall we say?
What can we do but offer our deaths and lives to You.
What will become of the clothing of sin?
Rip it off, feel the air on your skin
Up from the grave you rise as you're buried with Christ to all sin
When Death becomes Life.
What do we do?
Children content to keep sinning
Didn't we realize that time is all gone?
Now we are soldiers and martyrs and heroes
Though we are not strong.
So what do we say?
Baptized in water and fire
We'll never look bcak at the vestige of shame
We have been called from the darkness to shout to a blinded world
And ask of them:
--

and in my cage I sit and sing to Him who placed me there.
Well pleased a prisoner to be, because my God, it pleases Thee.
