Who I Thought He Was
Okay. THis song was written for The Easter Spectacular! Which is a play that Sarah and I are working on, it happens once Jesus has died and it's sung by Peter and Mary Magdalene. It's really cool and you should hear it! (Sarah... can we use Sweet Little Boy? PLEASE!? The apprentices want to sing it and record the play on a CD or something... its really cool sounding!)

And I remember that He said He would die to make men free… but I don’t feel free.
And all my thoughts are spinning ‘round. Thoughts of my Jesus falling down
I really thought He was the one because of what He did in me.
My heart is aching from the things I’ve seen. But if I doubt Him what did my faith really mean?
I once believed He was the Son of God. Does this change who I thought He was?
Peter: I can’t look you in the eye. I abandoned Him before He died.
And somehow He knew I would.
Mary: He could see what man can’t see.
Peter: But did it have to be me?
Mary: Still, He saw beyond my shame
Peter: Even when I denied His name. Now the tears roll down my face.
Both: But my sorrow came too late.
Peter: The man I knew, He was not just any man
He asked the question, “Who do you say that I am?”
You are the Christ. You are the Son of God!
This doesn’t change who I thought He was!
Both: My heart is aching from the things I’ve seen.

I believe You are the Son of God!
This doesn’t change who I know You are.
