Losing My Composure
I wrote this right before Creation, and it's basically about how God is passionate about us and even when we wrap him in tradition and formality, he breaks out of it to tell us that he loves us. Consequentially, the verse is kind of stiff and hard to catch the tune, but the chorus falls into a tumbling melody that runs a chord progression from the top of one octave to the top of the next. It sounds amazing, at least to me.
Losing my Composure
This is a song I wrote to tell you that I love you
And you know, I'm always waiting
I will comfort you when you cry
When you're lost I'll be there to find you
And you know, I'm always there.
chorus
You can sing to me if you need
I'll be there to listen, I'll be there to bleed
If you want me, know I'm always here in this song
You can find your rest, you can find repose
Cuz I love you best and I love you most
And I'll sing to you whenever you're afraid.
I will sing to you
I will sing when you're afraid
This is a song I wrote to tell you that I love you
And you know, I'm always waiting
I will comfort you when you cry
When you're lost I'll be there to find you
And you know, I'm always there.
Chorus
When you're afraid
Let it go
Let your heartbeat slow
Cuz you know I am the one who loves you.
Chorus
If you could fall into these chords
I gave my life, so be reborn
I'll love you when there's nothing to believe...
I'm losing my composure.

Re: Losing My Composure
Its amazing, I want to hear this one.
I'm never content with singing "On the Outside" now without your echos and stuff. I miss you, Sarah!
--- A little bird I am, shut from the fields of air
and in my cage I sit and sing to Him who placed me there.
Well pleased a prisoner to be, because my God, it pleases Thee.

Churning these out, aren't we? That's a good thing, though. They all sound brilliant.

Re: Losing My Composure
Churning them out? The irony of that is something only Bethy and I could grasp. I can't keep myself from writing, it all just spills out and after a while it really piles up.

Re: Losing My Composure
It means that sad is happy for deep people. And it's funny because (generally) it's true. Maybe "deep" isn't the right word, but like... artistic people. Or something. This is why jokes shouldn't be explained....
