1. Find the image you want (google, search for "avatars"
2. right-click on it, and click on "Copy image location".
3. Go to your control panel, (top of your forum screen) and click on "Change miscellaneous settings".
4. Click on the first text thingy, and copy the image location to the area.

That should work.

This topic was going on under the "how to join the forum" thread, but I gave it it's own spot because we figured more people might want to know how to do it.

I didn't have "Copy Image Location" when I right clicked on the image.
I had to right click on the image, click on properties, then copy the URL address.

you could have clicked "copy shortcut" and then went to misc. settings and right clic, then click on paste. Done|

Here's the long version that I tried to explain in the beginning!

Right click on the image and save it on your desktop.

Go to http://imageshack.org

click "browse" and find your avatar

Imageshack will get you all the codes you need, copy the one that is a "http://www..." something.

Thats the code you put into the avatar space.

I searched for "avatars", looked at about a hundred then played around with the computer until I figured out how to make it work (right click on image, click on "properties" then copy the URL address ).

None of the things you all posted work with my computer. That's why I posted how I did it, in case anyone else was having problems.

I don't have "Copy shortcut" or "Copy Image location" as a choice when I right click. The imageshack didn't work either. Hmmmmmm, I bet I have the oldest computer.......

I have one for Wyld Byll too, just have to get him to sign on so I can put it on.

 Have to use the link that says "direct link".
