Disturbing, but yes, I can imagine and it's good.

They make this dish of Raman Noodles and Mackeral or kippers and ANYTHING stolen out of Dietary called "hook up". They make it by the huge Rubbermade tub (which is proof that men need to cook for other people...which is why I have a grill...but I digress). As you might've guessed, it smells digusting. I've never eaten it. I'm not supposed to, anyway. We could have a hook-up eating contest.

Mackerel? emoticon I found an old Weight Watchers handbook (actually, it think it was called Diet Watchers) that belonged to my Mom in the sixties. I think all of the recipes involved some kind of Mackerel manipulations. Yuk.

I think there's something in the Geneva Convention about making people eat mackeral....or at least smell the sink where they had to skin the stuff.

Yeah...I think this is probably why Diet Watchers recommended it to everyone. Of course their clients would lose weight cuz no one could eat the Mackerel! Ha! Mackerel Mousse with Mackerel Jello Mold for dessert!

Re: …

Okay. So, total change of subject but it's only 8:30am and I've already had enough of Earth Day talk on the news. Gee...if I can last until this afternoon, I can get a lesson on how to "make a difference" from Oprah, Sandra Bullock, Julia Roberts and Al Gore on The Oprah Show. Thank Goodness for these people...the planet needs them to show us all the error of our ways! What would we all do without Julia! emoticon Now? They're telling me to roll down the window in my car to save on air conditioning...but, only if I'm not driving too fast. Having the windows down while driving on the highway can actually add drag and make the car run less efficiently. Wow, I'm glad I've learned this important lesson. Time to take my SUV for a spin and I'll open and close the windows whenever I want. emoticon

Re: …

Hey...I just thought of something. The big news around the Boston area over the last couple of days. Sandra Bullock was involved in a head on collision in Gloucester, MA. The SUV she was riding in was totaled after being hit by a drunk driver. First, what was she doing riding in an SUV if she has so much to teach us about living green? Second, I'll bet she's glad she was in a BIG car after walking away with no injuries after a head on crash.

Don't forget Sheryl Crow's advice last Earth Day: Only using one square of toilet paper saves trees!

At least she was just kidding about that one.

I'll take environmental advice from Oprah when she grounds her private jet and flies commercial.

And then she said that if that didn't work, you should just use your sleeves.

Re: Owner's Manual for the Old RV

The commercials where they show a political somebody from the "left" and a politacl somebody from the "right" together makes me want to puke. The one with Pat Robertson and Al Sharpton REALLY bothered me.

Earth Day is like No Child Left Behind, it is a lovely idea, but not much with which to back it up.

I drive an SUV and am shopping for a new one, I use florescent lights, only have the A/C on in half my house, recycle. I really dislike the guilt trip.

So yeah when Oprah and Al Gore and rest of the crowd starts living on a real budget, . . .

Re: Owner's Manual for the Old RV

I use 12 rolls of paper towels and a 150 pack of paper plates every 2 weeks. And my minivan barely gets 15 MPG in-town. And I drink bottled water. And I used disposable diapers.

I had energy saving bulbs in my house, but they took so long to get to full strength brightness that I took them out.

I'm probably single handedly responsible for global warming and the hole in the ozone.

Re: Owner's Manual for the Old RV

I may look at trucks with a king cab instead.

I love my suv, it is comfy and I drive a lot. Of course when I get to Houston I can use their mass tran, but first I have to get to Houston. I love road trips!

Actually we decided not to get either the Murano or the 4Runner because both take premium gas. So I'm back into shopping mode
