I wanted very much to be homeschooled, but back in my day that just didn't happen. I hated school more than anything. I was bored all day long plus I was surrounded by teenagers. Shoot me. And that was when I WAS a teenager.

Re: i guess

Yeah, homeschooling was kind of unheard of back in my day. As for my own kids...I could never have pulled it off. I'm a terrible teacher...they never let me train anyone when I worked at the dental lab. I could never resist the urge to "just do it myself". Plus, I'm pretty lazy and a horrible procrastinator. We'd probably end up doing fun stuff until crunch time and then all hell would break loose. Not a good example of time management and responsibiity...

Re: i guess

I'm a list maker, so this school works for me. Tells me exactly what comes next, then mark it done.

My problem is my kid is too smart for the system. I now just test her out of everything without doing the assignments (which is totally okay in this program). But it doesn't help with my list making.

Plus I HATE Science...so I'm having to force myself to do those assignments.

I loved Science, too...hated (hate) math, loved Science. I also loved conjugating verbs...jk...I didn't really. Mostly though, I loved history. History was my favorite subject.

I could only manage algebraic equations when they had a flipping point, like in science. Otherwise it was dead to me.

While in school, I actually did quite well in math. The minute I stopped thinking about it on a regular basis though, it left my brain and never came back.

I haven't seen math homework for years...thank goodness, though. I'd never be able to figure out those Scientific Calculators. They freak me out.
