I always wondered if Locke knew the answer to the snowman joke from the beginning.

I never thought of Desmond as leading man material. Except for the accent, of course. No, I wouldn't say I resemble Desmond in any manner.

If this show has a logical explanation, why has nobody blatantly figured it out yet? And has that logical explanation stayed 100% the same since the pilot was written?

On Leading Man Material: I can't say that I've ever been attracted to classic leading men, well, at least the "leading men" of my generation. All bets are off if you put a living breathing Gregory Peck in front of me, especially a To Kill a Mockingbird era Peck. Or the spaghetti western era Clint Eastwood. But leading men? We've already discussed Tom Cruise, Kevin Costner and the others. Seriously, they aren't even attractive, just creepy. Desmond? He's hot.

Des has a lilting accent that is indicative of either Irish or Welsh. In some of last yeasrs epi he was getting out of prison and I inferred that he was in there for political reasons. And he calls everyone brother, it's an IRA thing
