you can't see another headland from the ledges and you can see the bench breaking in the background.
why is it nearly empty - 2 reasons - most people seem to surf in the arvo weekdays down here as they finish work at lunchtime (like luffs) - it's a bit of a drive to it and it's not always open as you have to go through an army firing range then private land to get there.
second reason - you are only allowed to surf the left side of the bay in the background and recently the army have stopped anyone surfing the bench - was is rated as one of the top 15 waves in the UK and ireland. heavy, fast, shallow reef - your kind of wave hairy. there's an action group trying to change it but the army have very clearly said if people continue to go over their land then they will stop people going there forever (god knows how!).
so weekdays there is rarely a crowd over there and they are not meant to be there.
i say screw the army - I pay for em. however, widely publicising a photo will only make things worse.....but good on em, it looks fukin brilliant.
now i am getting out of my busy period at work I am going to try and score kbay more. it's a quality set of heavier breaks. it's hideously fickle and only breaks well for a short time so if you wanted to shoot your celebrity mates hairy you would need the nod from on local then bust yo ass up the coast.

i heard of people kayaking out with there boards to the outer reef about 2 miles off shore
i can get massive but only once in a blue moon
there's loads of spots round there rarely surfed as very long walks i mean miles of them, check out google some are cut off and it's as spooky as ****.
