Can I take a moment and ask a dumb question....why did they have to show her pregnant belly during the love scene?
I mean it was obvious she was pregnant, I don't know, I just thought it was unnessesary.

I think it was maybe the only way they could show both of their faces and safely had sex...since she is pregnant..I dunno, I don't have and kids, just guessing..but good question Anetter...love, jess

yeah, I did think of that....but then it just got in the way of the scene, I thought anyway, after awhile I felt like, yeah, I know she's pregnant and I know that's probably the only way that they can do it safely but....I just thought it an odd choice.

I think they showed her belly because the overall scene was meant to show how much his family meant to him. He lived for them.
And here is his wife, large with child, and he's behaving like she's the sexiest thing he's ever seen. It shows his deep committment to her and family.
I think that is what Spielberg was trying to get across. And God bless him! But somebody PLEASE move that sheet!

Troyboy I agree with you on that. She's as big as a house, and he still wants her. Very cool.
Yeah, Gijon, on that last 'love' scene, I didn't like that at all. The beginning was good, with her gently touching his face and the ending (where she says she loves him) but the whole thing in the middle. Nope.
I think that scene confused me so much, because I felt bad for them. He is finaly home with his wife and he is still such a mess taht he can't get the past out of his head. I fet so bad for them both.
I think it was also a mistake in continuaty. If he's all sweaty, how can he be dried of by the end of the scene? ANd how can it be that she didn't drown?
