I think they showed her belly because the overall scene was meant to show how much his family meant to him. He lived for them.

And here is his wife, large with child, and he's behaving like she's the sexiest thing he's ever seen. It shows his deep committment to her and family.

I think that is what Spielberg was trying to get across. And God bless him! But somebody PLEASE move that sheet!

I totally agree - It showed what a loving family man and how much he loved her.

yeah, i agree too...I think it gives the whole scene a touch of sweetness, a flavour of gentleness...
And as for the last love scene...I think it's wonderfully terrific, I couldnt have thought it in a better way...he's dry, he's totally gone! He's kept living on the edge for such a long time...I mean, there's always this constant co-presence of life and death, which is hard to keep! It's hard to mantain your rational and emotional balance when you're dealing with life and death...they have to kill some people who are surrounded by other people that, at the same time, MUST NOT be killed! It's not like "ok Robert, place the bomb and blow it all up". It's like "make the bomb, but be careful, cause it must not be too powerful. it must be put there, but not to close to that other space...." and blah blah blah... I mean, it destroys you, I think!
And at the end he understands they definitely went beyond, they overpassed the point of no return, which they already knew at the beginning....but passing that limit can become really devastating when, after passing it, you start to think that maybe what you've done was useless, or wrong, maybe you made some mistakes....and he started to have this doubts! You know when they're in Paris putting the bomb under the phone? And Carl (I think it's Carl) begins to question himself and Avner... He asks "do we have any evidence for doing what we're doing?" and Avner kinda tells him "stop questioning yourself, they told us they have the proof, so it's useless to inbvestigate, let's just do that and stop. if you want some evidence, send a telegram by yourself".
And then at the end he's there with Efraim and he finds he's been having the very same doubts of carl....
So, in conclusion....after such a thing....how can you just avoid thinking of that? Even when you're making love to your wife!!!
i think that scene's perfect.....I love it for its harshness...

Hi!
I only saw Munich one time but I was totally shocked about it.
I think Eric did a great performance although the film and the plot wasn't the most interesting for me.
I know that some of the people who saw the movie was very critical with it.

I love it when a movie gets mixed critics. It means the movie made people think and isn't boring. I saw it 4 times (I'm a geek) and that last scene shocked me more every time.
Forgot to ad, that I do think this is the first movie i have seen him in where I just don't always know what to think. On the one hand, I feel for his character, on the other hand, I wanted to smack him for havingsuch blind faith and just doing what he is told. I like it when movies do that, it doesn't happen often. But it makes it hard to gush...but thats a good thing.

I never questioned the 1st love scene, I thought it was beautiful....
I just wondered why Eric was completely naked, when she wasn't, being husband and wife and so close, to me it is more realistic as a husband and wife that are that close to not care about clothes....perhaps the actress didn't want to be naked for the movie...that I can understand...although why not with Eric right behind you!
