Bana set for Time Traveller role
Eric Bana appeared in the epic Troy
Hulk star Eric Bana is to star with Rachel McAdams in a film adaptation of The Time Traveller's Wife.
The movie, based on the best-selling novel by Audrey Niffenegger, is due to begin shooting in August and pencilled in for release next year.
Canadian McAdams, whose screen credits include Wedding Crashers and The Notebook, has been linked to the lead role since the project's inception.
Edward Norton will take over Bana's Hulk role in a new screen version.
Mixed reviews
Australian-born Bana, who last major role was in Steven Spielberg's Munich in 2005, will play a librarian who discovers he has a gene which makes him travel in time when he is under pressure.
The relationship with his wife is fraught with problems as he disappears for long periods and their ages differ during various encounters.
Bana recently finished work on The Other Boelyn Girl, in which he plays King Henry VIII alongside Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman.
His next release is Lucky You, starring opposite Drew Barrymore.
Bana played comic hero The Incredible Hulk in Ang Lee's version of the story in 2003, which met mixed reviews.

Está confirmado que Eric Bana, o para mí el gran Héctor desde que hiciera Troya, estará presente en la película The Time Traveler´s Wife junto con Rachel McAdams, de la cual no tenemos confirmación oficial pero sabemos que ha estado muy interesada desde que comenzó el proyecto y que sólo le falta echar la firmita.
La película está basada en la novela de Audrey Niffenegger, prima de Arnold (jaja), y trata sobre un librero (Eric Bana) que sufre un desorden genético que le provoca involuntarios viajes en el tiempo cuando esta bajo situaciones de estrés. La acción transcurre en Chicago donde el librero intenta mantener un romance con una jovenzuela (Rachel McAdams), a pesar de que los viajes en el tiempo del chaval trastornan un poco la dinámica de la pareja causándoles algún que otro problemilla conyugal.
El film que viene de la mano de New Line estará dirigido por Robert Schwentke (Filghtplan, Plan de vuelo:desaparecida, la de Jodie Foster y la niña que se pierde en el avión), se empezará a rodar en agosto y cuenta con el guión de Jeremy Leven y Joel Rubin.
Eric Bana me parece un buen actor que encadenó tres películas grandes como Hulk, Troya y Munich, las cuales solventó con muy buen nivel. Ahora tiene unos cuantos proyectos menores como Lucky You junto a Drew Barrymore, la australiana Romulus, My Father junto a Franka Potente y The Other Boleyn Girl (sobre Ana Bolena y tal) junto a Natalie Portman y Scarlett Johansson, la verdad es que siempre está bien acompañado el tío. Me da buena espina, seguro que vuelve a encontrar papeles en superproducciones

Now he has a few smaller projects as Lucky You next to Drew Barrymore, the Australian one Romulus, My Father next to Franka Powerful and The Other Boleyn Girl (on Ana Bolena and such) next to Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson, the truth is that always is well accompanied the uncle. Good thorn gives me, sure that finds again roles in superproducciones

I like Rachel McAdams (Cause she's Canadian and all), but I wish they would have chosen someone else to play the female lead. I'm not wild about the book, but I would have seen kate Winslet in the role, for sure...or Cate Blanchett or someone else that has more character and is less, well, cute, you know what I mean?
That said I'm ashamed to say I did like the cheesy fest that was the Notebook. Rachel was good in it. I'm just not that crazy about her, I guess.
I hope they keep the sex that's in the novel, though, so we can see lot's of sweaty, naked Bana.
