Hi girls! Isis asked me to open a new topic about avatars... so here I am!!!
As there was a similar topic (LJ-Icons) I´ve decided to move that one to the archived topics section so you can still see it there... I hope that nobody feels bad about this decision... (in that case PM me please!!!)
Well, I´m not very good at computers so I cannot explain much about how to make your own avatars... it´s just a matter of getting the right size of photograph (60x60) and maybe using the photoshop program a little bit... If you are able to make some and you wanna share them with us, you just have to post them in this topic... Come on... don´t be shy!!!
Anyway, if you are as clumsy as I am, there are many pages where you can find all types of images and avatars... In this case, if you really wanna share the avatars you´ve found on the web with us, make sure that you´re allowed to do it by their author (most of them are usually public, so you don´t have to worry much about this) and, please, give credits... there are people who spend a lot of time making this kind of things and, at least, they deserve to be recognised... don´t you think?
If you wanna post your own avatars or those made by other people and you feel like sharing them with us, you just have to open an account in places such as Photobucket.com or ImageShack.us (I prefer the first one). Once you have your account you can store there as many avatars as images as you like... If you wanna post some of them, select the ones you prefer, generate the html codes, copy the "thumbnail" code for messages boards and put it here... in that way, we´ll be able to pick your avatars directly from this topic.
I don´t know if I´ve explained everything properly or not... if you have any doubt, please, let me know and I´ll try to solve it as soon as possible, right?

Okay, I have a few avatars now in photobucket. So how do I generate the html codes? And how do I copy the "thumbnail" code for messages boards, where do I find the thumbnail code? When I look at my photobucket pictures, there are three codes. So which ones do I need?
And about posting them here, do I use the same way as inserting image?
