Well, this is a show about ninjas (if ya didn't know). There are a lot of different characters that you can relate to, which is why I like it so much. Here is a summery of what happens...
Naruto has a demon "nine-tailed fox" put inside of him at his birth, Naruto acts as a container for the nine-tailed fox, but once in a while the great power of the nine-tailed fox is released. Many lives were lost while fighting the nine-tailed fox before it was sealed inside of Naruto.
As Naruto grows up, without parents, the people around him find him to be different from the other kids because of the nine-tailed fox that dwells within him. Naruto goes to the ninja academy as a child, finding it to be dificult because he has no friends, which makes him act as a neusince because this is his way of getting attention. Around the age of 12, Naruto graduated from the academy and becomes a Genin, the next rank in the shinobi ladder.
Naruto is now in a team of three. His teamates are Sakura, who he has a crush on, and Sasuke, who Sakura likes. But Sasuke is not interested in girls, he wants to aquire power due to a troubled past with his brother, Itachi. Sasuke's goal is to defeat Itachi.
Once becoming Genins and completing some ninja missions, their team leader Kakashi, who is a Jounin, thinks that they are ready for the Chuunin exams. Some of the other Jounins think that it is too early to send them to the Chuunin exams, but Kakashi believes that they are ready. Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke agree to take these exams.
The Chuunin exams are a set of three tests. The first test is critical on their minds, but they successfuly choose the right decision. Now in the second part of the exams, "The Forrest of Death", they run into a character named Orochimaru. Team 7, Naruto's team, has a devistating fight with Orochimaru, trying to stay alive in their fight for their lives. Once all hope is lost, the power of the nine-tailed fox bursts out to save the day, but Orochimaru is capable of puting a seal over this power, thus ending Naruto's reign. Now that team 7 seems to be out for the count, Orochimaru puts a curse on Sasuke, casuing him to gain a vast ammount of power when activated.
After completing the second stage of the exams, Sasuke is having trouble with his curse. Kakashi tries to help by putting a seal over it, but the seal will only work if Sauske has the will to hold back the curse. Once the third part of the exams begin, Sasuke is able to contain the power that is of the curse, but things start to change. Sasuke has always looked down to Naruto as an insuperrior. As Naruto shows that his power is growing quite substantualy, Sasuke starts to grow angry with the thought that he is not gaining any power himself. Sasuke starts to rely on the power of his curse, which will have devistating results.
To find out more, watch the show.

Re: Naruto: Shippūden
Phew, I just finished episode 220 and I am now on episode 4 of Shippuuden.....I need a life. In a little over a month and a half, I watched 117 episodes of Naruto, and I was also gone for 10 days, too.
edit: I just finished shippuuden episode 10. And I figured out that in 5 weeks, I watched 42 hours and 20 minutes of Naruto.

Re: Naruto: Shippūden
technically, this is a quadruple post, but the time span is so far apart. Anyways, in the 13th and 14th episode, Rock Lee is standing on water, but I thought he could only do taijutsu. Did he learn something new!?!
