MEGAMAN BATTLE NETWORK 7 NEEDS ZYOU...well anyone
Yawgy's words speak for themselves, here. It's no joke nor lie that we're currently experiencing bits of trouble when it comes to working staff members. There have simply been a number of personal issues that have risen up to prevent various members from fulfilling their duties to the fullest; however, the greatest problem lies in a dying passion. That's where you all come in.
As you can tell from Charkie's post, we're accepting applications for new developers. You all are CRUCIAL to the future of EXE 7 - unless we have some fresh faces and burning passion, we're basically out of buisness. This is indeed a fan-made project and can only be sustained as such - BY FANS. Anyhow, without further rants and ravings, I've been sent here to specify what each position entails and what you should expect before applying.
SPRITER
You make sprites - it's really that simple. You don't have to be able to sprite absolutely everything; however, from the wide list of sprite-able items (overworlds, characters, viruses, etc.), you should at least be able to psuedo-mimic Capcom's style at one of them. Also, as Yawgy mentioned before, this isn't a contest - if you're good enough a spriter, you're in. There's no use hand-picking the best when it's obvious that we're in need of the help.
CHIP ARTIST
This is also rather simple - you just design the images that go on Battle Chips and whatnot. This doesn't have to be strictly a sprite-based job - hand-drawn and other such images will work, too, since it's rather easy to pixelate them to sprite-form. Anyhow, there also isn't really an upper limit to this; if you're good enough an artist, you're in.
AREA DESIGNER
For this one, you simply have to be proficient enough at creating creative map layouts, on the web or off. You don't necessarily have to be an artist to fill this position; however, you must be able to draw well enough to communicate your point to the other developers. The main thing we're looking for here is CREATIVITY, especially in designing ingenious layouts and such.
PROGRAMMERS
Alright, this is the life-blood of the game, at this point. We need more programmers to speed up development paces; without them, there's little else we can do with EXE 7 except cancel it. Anyhow, programmers must have previous experience with GameMaker, as there won't be anyone to hold your hand along the way.
Ji's Note
If you know of any programmers on another web site, PLEASE TRY AND RECRUIT THEM YOURSELVES. This applies to other positions, as well, but is most stressed for programmers. Also, I would like to mention that if you're a large enough aid in recruiting new people, we're willing to reward you, as well, even if you don't make it or aren't on the development team.
CONCEPT DEVELOPERS
There isn't necessarily a condition to meet for this one, except to have a creative mind, though you should be rather familiar with past EXE games (Battle Chip libraries, viruses, and so on). There's a wide variety of fields to specialize in, ranging from virus concepts to A.R.M.O.R. concepts and so on. Just be sure to specify which area you would like to apply for.
Everyone is encouraged to try and invite others to join the project. This includes people from other websites; in fact, Yawgy stresses the importance of spreading the message to other forums and sites. It doesn't matter where they're from or what they do after it's over; if they are competent, willing, and able to put the time and effort into being worthwhile members, then they are wanted on the team.
Lastly, if you're in desperate need to contact me personally, I refer you to the following. Everything else should be directed towards Yawgy and Commie, who are both currently spearheading the development project in my stead, whilst I'm overseas.
