Training groups

Hi everyone,

As we all know, it's better to train with at least a few people so we can throw for each other and trade ideas.

My thought for this forum is that when someone is planning to go train and they'd like to have company, they can simply post a note with an open invitation, where and when.

If you'd like to go train with others and don't know anyone, check this message board and see if there's anyone heading out.

I'm hoping that this forum can be a common meeting place where people can get together to form training groups or occasionally hook up as our busy schudules allow.

Best of luck in the upcoming season.

Re: Training groups

Thanks for the offer Brad. I've been member for the last year and haven't been to any events yet due to my slope schedule and the fact that my pup is now just 10 months old. I hope to attend some events this summer and gain some training experience for myself and my pup.

Hi Kurt,

It's understandable that you didn't attend events last year with such a young pup, but he'll be just right this year. Yes, the slope schedule is tough to work around in every respect. This season might work out a little better as we have more events planned.

We're still doing 2 sanctioned NAHRA field tests, but we've also planned 3 picnic tests which are casual, fun events. We're using real birds, which is great for all the dogs, and there's always knowledgeable folks around to give us training tips. They're also a great introduction to how the field tests are run, so it's a good warm-up if you want to run the sanctioned events.

We'll be getting more info out later, but for a heads-up, the picnic dates are May 7th, 14th and June 5th.

Give a shout if you need more information on anything and hopefully we'll see you this spring.

Brad.
