Duck Calling
Would anyone in the club be willing to put on a duck calling demo/class at one of the 2005 MSGA events? Also, would the club be interested in purchasing instructional videos on duck and goose calling to add to its' library?
If not, does anyone have a recommendation of a good instructional video on duck calling that I can purchase?

Re: Duck Calling
Hi Dan,
Sorry for the delay getting replying. I like both of your ideas and could use them myself. The club has always been open to the purchase of useful training materials, and while waterfowl calling isn't our primary focus, I think we're all hunters.
As for a class at one of our events...it would have to be the upland fun hunt in August as we're too close to the July test. I have someone in mind who might be willing to give us a demo so I'll follow that lead. I'll also present your suggestions to the board at our next meeting.
As for recommending a video... I've used a few tapes, but no video's yet. The tapes I've used have been pretty helpful at allowing you to hear what real ducks sound like and what good calling is. They explain how to use whatever call they're pushing, but it's definitely something that takes practice. A video would probably be more useful and a live demonstration better yet.
You might try renting one from Mt. View Sports before settling on a purchase. They carry a wide selection of videos to rent, but I don't know if they'll have what you're looking for. Could be worth a phone call.
If I can arrange a calling demonstration or the purchase of video's, I'll post an announcement on the web site.
Thanks for the suggestions.
Brad
