Re: Joe Jackson
Talented guy is Joe, I have an soundtrack album he composed for a film called Mikes Murder in 1983, more of a jazz fusion type thing. There's a track called Zemio which is could have come straight from a mid 70's thriller. And Steppin' Out is still a fantastic tune aswell as being a great name for a club night!
I remember being on the Isle of Wight one year and Joe Jackson was staying in the Ryde Castle (even though he comes from Portsmouth!). Tony Class took this as a sign to play Different For Girls and Is She Really Going Out With Him at full blast as soon as he started the do!

Re: Joe Jackson
I loved the Joe Jackson songs back in the day when I perhaps should have been listening to something else
Still gives me that 'feel good' buzz tho when I hear his tracks on the radio

Re: Joe Jackson
Ahh the days when at least some pop music was good.
Due to this thread, I have just listened to The Boomtown Rats, Squeeze, Ian Dury, The Police, Eddy and the Hot Rods, Elvis Costello and the Attractions, The Members, The Pretenders, The Undertones and Blondie. All great Pop groups (who had hits in the same year), why the hell don't we have that now? Is Mica really the best we can offer??

Well, myself and Claudia have been to a couple of Eddie & the Hot Rod gigs this year and can highly reccomend them still and this last week we've been to see The Buzz****s and Squeeze and both gigs were fantastic. The Buzz****s just got on with it, loud, energetic, Steve Diggle thinking he was in the Who. Put a lot of younger bands to shame as did the Undertones when I saw them recently too. Their new album is pretty good too and well worth investigating. Squeeze were also on fire on Tuesday, can't recall being at a gig where everyone was singing along to every word, think Difford and Tilbrook were slighly taken aback by the audience reaction. It does help that Difford and Tilbrook wrote some of the best songs of the past 30 years and good to see a few moddy looking types in attendance. Roll on Sham 69 this weekend.............
