What do you miss about being a mod in the 80's?


This was posted on another forum and I thought it was quite good.
I'll start :
I miss :
Mellandii (commercial but cool if you were 16) emoticon
An abundance of vintage clothing emoticon
Going into town and seeing loads of mods (you never see any now) emoticon
All the blokes had hair emoticon
All the blokes were single emoticon

I miss the searching you had to do to find out about the bands, zines , it,s so easy now with the net . Strange maybe but that,s wot I miss most emoticon

I miss being young and hyper,fresh faced and living it in every way that's Mod.

Gonna have to think about this a bit. As shakesome said a lot of the mystery has gone out of it cos of modern commoonikashun. You did have to go out to gigs and get talking to people to find out what was happening.

Then again, I do like this forum lark cos you can get yourself organised. God I sound old saying that. emoticon

discovering new things..people , music
the smell of two stroke & riding out with yer mates
...and butterflies in the belly before you went out 'cos ya never knew what was gonna happen

yep, bought a perfectly running scoot for $50 Aus once ('bout 20 squid) and rode it into the ground with no care...well, it was a Bajaj
