Excellent Mudgee! emoticon Enjoyed their version of Solitary Man as well. I don't have that much Aussie music in the collection. I've a few CDs by You Am I, Easybeats, Green Circles, The Church, a couple of Big Beat label 60s garage & psych comps and the Party At Hanging Rock LP of course. My mate Stephen is a big Triffids fan. Always thought of Down Under as an untapped goldmine of good groups though!

nice one Morph. Glad someone out there likes 'em. emoticon The bands you mention all had some great songs.. You am I .. i'd go for 'Purple Sneakers' and Berlin Chair.

Check out The Sunnyboys. They were brilliant before about 1983 and then really went for the larger audience and lost their earlier 60's..ish sound. Unfortunately the best of their songs aren't on youtube. There's a 4 track e.p that most getting into mod in that era would probably like.

these ones got a track on the Powerpearls compilations annd used to get a few mods along early on as well.

Riptides 77 Sunset Strip

All good stuff Mudgee! 'Tomorrow's Tears' wouldn't sound out of place on one of those Shake Some Action comps, and The Sunnyboys' track is fantastic. Saw a link to a Rick Springfield in You Tube, which reminded me of this little bit of late psych from the early 70s...

Cool band! emoticon ...and in a similar indie-mod, mildly psych style to Scarlet Party as well. I remember being overjoyed at finding a clear vinyl copy of 'Eyes of Ice' in the Disc Den, a second hand record shop in the Old Smithfield Market in Belfast, circa 1984.

Also found a mint copy of The Jam's Studio B15 EP in there around the same time. I remember having an argument with the shop-keeper the next time I visited. When I mentioned it he flatly denied all knowledge. Probably sensitive about flogging bootlegs!

Ah... the joys of record collecting. It's the simple things that keep me happy emoticon
