I too was at that run, unfortunatly just outside Margate a couple of us stopped wiv scoot trouble, we sorted the prob and shot off after the pack, when we noticed the 'old bill' following, they followed us doin 28 miles p/h for about 10 F**CKIN miles, Then pulled us, checked all our docs, saw we was legal,
here comes the punchline!
Said, when you stopped back at Margate you dropped a Coke can! now go back and pick it up!!!!

I luv driving without a helmet
I went on a MAG rally once (god knows what for) and we all took our helmets off as a kind of protest - and it was great

Re: Top moments you dont forget
Too many top moments in my time as a mod but I couldn't pick out a defining one, could write down a few pages worth though! Looking back the scooter crash that put me out of action for the best part of a year and was the start of me leaving the mod scene hurt in more ways than one

Re: Top moments you dont forget
An old mate of mine was a big Man City fan. Went to every game and came back with plenty of tales of what had happened. They were drawn away at Plymouth and he got wound up mercilessly to watch out for the Plymouth fans. To which answer in a Mancunian tongue was always "Plymouth won't have a crew".
The day after the match he walks in to see the rest of us sitting there. Supping our pints. Wondering what story he has. But he has a black eye. Before anyone can say anything he turns and utters the immortal words:
"Plymouth had a crew".
Still cracks me up now to think of it.

Blimey, are the Murphys gonna be there too? Haven't seen any of them since 1980 but then I wouldn't remember them and doubt they'd remember me either!
Had a good night out on saturday, loads of old stories and a few beers....I'll post any photos that appear...spoke to Gal about his book, on another thread on here and it sounds good...
Tom
From another web-site
3/3/07. The Bridgehouse reunion. Venue: The White Swan and Cuckoo, Wapping. Those present include: Terry ‘The GuvNor’ Murphy, Mick Geggus, Jefferson Turner, Hoxton Tom, Gary Hodges, H, Gal, Si Spanner, Barney Rubble, Freddie Brown, Big Bob Baisden, Danny Thompson, ex-boxer and one of the orignal class-of-'77 Becontree skins, Darren ‘Wasted Youth’ Murphy,(Wot? No Yeti?) and more, some of whom appeared to have shaved their heads in a kind of mass Britney Spears tribute. The highlights of the night were the lunar eclipse (caused by Si’s beergut), the Russian barmaid, KGB (Kould Get Beautiful, after a pint or three) and murky snap-shots from 1979 reminding us that the years have been less kind to a few of us. Sigh. If only some sussed young stylist of today could travel back in time Life On Mars style with useful advice for the younger us (like: stay thin, keep a diary, don’t split up with Steph, sob...). At one stage, Gal was taken aside by a Wapping local who whispered: “Tell Clyde if he don’t get the Gonads in the studio pronto to record this 'ere ska CD, our unhappiness will be manifest.” Ours too. Consider the message passed on, bruv. El Tel revealed that the Bridgehouse book will be published by Cass on 7/7/07. And the big news of the night was that the 4-Skins will definitely be recording a brand new album. Apologies for absence were received from Grant Fleming, Frankie 'Boy' Flame (in Switzerland), Terry Hayes (in Boston), Glen Murphy (in Essex), and Garry Johnson who was at Paul Devine's latest funeral. Garry J reports: "After a moving service, the vicar read out one of Paul's jokes and the congregation had two minutes' silence." Also not there, the black Marilyn herself Antonia Moore. Antonia wasn't invited because she had nothing to do with the Bridgehouse, a mistake, on reflection, cos face it old chums she's a lot easier on the eye-balls than Gal and Oxo.
