im of the opinion that the bands around today are far better than back in the 8ts,been a mod since 1980 have bought virtualy everything connected to mod since and although i have my favs from back in the day,the new stuff is miles ahead....

some of the bands from now that i listen to
.....stoned soul picnic,new master sounds,the indikation,mike painter and the family shakers,nick rossi set,the 5 aces[the boogaloo investigators]sharon jones and the dap-kings,the mighty imperials,moving sounds,andy lewis,lord large,nicole willis and the soul investigators,frank popp ensemble,fay hallam trinity,big boss man,gene drayton unit,diplomats of solid sound,smashing time,the embrooks,sugarman three,les cappuccino,lefties soul connection,speedometer,the dansettes,jarvis humby,the link quartet,modus...etc...etc loads of great stuff out there thats very mod friendly...

The Bishops, The Rumblestrips, Pigeon Detectives, Bromheads Jacket, Air Traffic, Censored, The Blue Van, The Dead 60's, Dogs, The Young Knives, The Enemy, Vatican DC, Switches, Five O'clock Hereos, Trashmonkeys, The Holloways, Keith, The Sugars, The Little Flames, The Draytones, Dirty Little Faces, Scully, Little Barrie, Mandio Diao.
Plus all the usual suspects, Milburn, Rifles, Ordinary Boys etc etc etc.....

Bought the new Undertones album, Dig Yourself Deep after seeing them on Saturday night. 14 tracks and only 1 of them breaks the 3 minute barrier. A couple don't even reach 2 minutes!All sounds pretty good to me on first play with a couple of strong songs that should grow with a few more plays.
