Announcing the 2007 Street Car Shootout!
WHATS NEW.....
This year there will be 3 race classes:
Auto Parts Network Outlaw Class 11.499 and faster
Constantine’s Engine and Performance Eliminator Class
11.500 to 12.799 ET cheater tires permitted
A&W Mount Pearl Cruiser Class
12.8 ET and slower. All cars must have normal street tires no cheater tires such as Mickey Thompson ET streets, ET radials, BF Goodrich Drag Radials, Nitto Drag Radials etc will not be permitted to run in this class
THE RULES.....
All vehicles MUST pass track inspection and all normal track rules will apply to the event. Drivers must pay normal track admission fees in addition to $20 to enter the shootout.
This year cars DO NOT require license or insurance but must be street legal cars
All vehicles must meet conditions such as...
Having DOT tires with minimum 3/32 thread depth all exhaust gases must pass through mufflers (or turbo) with pipes exiting behind driver
Windshield must be auto glass
Functional headlights, tail, turn, and brake lights, horn and wipers
You will not be permitted to enter a class in which your vehicle has recorded a faster ET during the 2007 race season.
Qualifying passes must be made before the lunch break on the day of the event. Qualifying times can be made at any weekend at the Clarenville dragway during the 2007 season however you must have the time slip signed by a member of the NSMA immediately after returning to the pits to ensure the car is within the shootout rules i.e. DOT tires closed exhaust etc. You must provide your time slip on the day of the event to enter the shoot out. Cars without a time slip can still race but will be added as the slowest car in each class.
ET Breakouts in Cruiser and Eliminator class will result in disqualification from shootout and you will not be able to move up into a faster class and will not be eligible for 1st, 2nd or 3rd place prizes.
A shootout committee (5 members NMSA) will have the final decision over all issues that arise during the shootout.
In order to make the event fun, fair and sportsman like for all competitors drivers believed to be intentionally slowing in order to stay within ET cutoffs can be
disqualified at the discression of the Shootout Committee. Decisions will be final. If your car has an ET close to the cut off time you may want to consider stepping up to the higher class to avoid ET breakouts.
THE PRIZES….
This year there's a lot of prizes and you don't have to have the fastest car to win.
Some of the prizes include...
1. Fastest Car $500 worth of tires from City Tire.
2. Closest driver to a perfect reaction time. $200 gift certificate from CPR Services
3. Fastest Sport Compact. Dyno session the value of $125 from Brian's Autobody and Dynomometer Services
4. First 20 drivers registered in each class will receive a T shirt from the class sponsor.
5. 100% of entry fees will be divided among 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in the 3 classes.
6. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in each class will receive plaques as well as
other prizes to be announced.
7. Other prizes will also be drawn at random from the entry list.

Re: Announcing the 2007 Street Car Shootout!
still waiting on the motor. when i changed my mind on my setup(going blown) it really shaged things up cause i had to wait forever on pistons, but they got it all now custom cam, block, everything. the blower is at the house, and the car is painted with the body kit on. i figures i'll be driving it before the end of august. guess theres always next year. beatty and woods is telling me it will make between 750 and 800 horsepower on 8psi and pump gas.
