The Rules!


2009 Street Car Shootout Rules
All vehicles MUST pass track inspection and all normal track rules will apply to the event. Drivers must pay normal track admission fees in addition to $20 to enter the shootout ALL money collected will be divided among the top 3 finishers in each class 50-30-20% split.

There will be 2 race classes:

Constantines Engine and Performance Outlaw Class
12.999 and faster

A&W Mount Pearl Cruiser Class
13.00 ET and slower. THIS YEAR ANY STREET LEGAL TIRE CAN RUN IN THIS CLASS
 
This year cars DO NOT require license or insurance but must be street legal cars
All vehicles must meet meet conditions such as
Having DOT tires with minimum 3/32 thread depth
All exhaust gases must pass through mufflers (or turbo) with pipes exiting behind driver
Windshield must be auto glass
Functional headlights, tail, turn, and brake lights, horn and wipers

You will not be permitted to enter a class in which your vehicle has recorded a faster ET during the 2008 or 2009 season at the clarenville dragway.

A shootout committee (5 members NMSA) will have the final decision over all issues
that arise during the shootout.

Qualifying passes must be made before 12PM on the day of the event. Qualifying times
can be made at any weekend at the Clarenville dragway during the 2009 season however you must have the time slip signed by a member of the NSMA immediately after returning to the pits to ensure the car is within the shootout rules i.e. DOT tires closed exhaust etc. Must provide your time slip on the day of the event to enter the shoot out. Cars without a time slip can still race but will be added as the slowest car in each class.
  
ET Breakouts in Cruiser will result in disqualification from shootout and you will not be able to move up into a faster class and will not be eligible for 1st, 2nd or 3rd place prizes.

In order to make the event fun, fair and sportsman like for all competitors drivers believed to be intentionally slowing in order to stay within ET cutoffs will be
disqualified at the discersion of the Shootout Committee. Decisions will be final.
If your car has an ET close to the a cut off time you may want to consider stepping
Up to the higher class to avoid ET breakouts

If the shootout isn't completed in full on Sunday due to rain or some other such event. The shootout will be restarted in full on the next race weekend. The $20 will be refunded.
