Fahrenheit 911 heats up the summer
There is very little Michael Moore stunt pulling in his latest endeavor. More of what you get are fascinating images not seen on broadcast television like Bush's inaugural motorcade pelted with eggs or the Taliban visiting Texas about an oil deal. We also get up close with soldiers in Iraq and see civilian casualties neglected from the live coverage more than a year ago.
We also see the Bush camp at its most unflattering - footage selected for its comic grossness to be sure - but again a side never shown on the evening news.
Equally gross are the revelations that the new leaders of Afghanistan were chosen as a reward for their past roles as oil consultants for firms in which the Bush family held an interest.
The film takes swipes at congress in general, both democrat and republican members. This movie is compelling entertainment regardless of your political stripe and we all learn something from it.
