Robbie Hewitt
There is sad news in the BMX community. At south parks local race Wednesday night we found out that one of our local riders was in a terrible bike accident near his home. We do not have all the information at this time. Robbie Hewitt is 7 years old. We at south park ask that everyone keep Robbie and his family in your thoughts and prayer.
We are starting to take donations at the track on Monday. We would also welcome hot meal donation for the family.

Re: Robbie Hewitt
Some of u might not know but robbie is in the pediatric icu at childrens hospital. He collided with a van tuesday evening about 730pm. He was life flighted ok. But when he landed at childrens he became totally unresponsive and began a seizure that lasted about one hour and 45 min. He has a little blood in the middle of his brain and as of 30 min ago had increasd swelling of his brain as well. He is on a ventilator and a **** load of meds to keep him unconscious and medically paralized. The docs have no idea how much damage was done from the seizure. He hasnt been awake yet. They did say that they dont plan on even attempting it for 2-3 more days. Steven is handling this like a champ. Me and jer not so well. Please keep robbie in your prayers. The little guy needs them.
Thursday update---Good day until 3pm.The pressure in his brain went up along with his blood pressure. He is critical but stable now.The doctors do not plan to wake him up until his brain swelling is under control for 48 hours,I will give updates as often as possible.Thank you for keeping him your thoughts.Rhiannon,Jeremy, and Steven

Re: Robbie Hewitt
Robbie is doing better. They transfered him to the Childrens Institute in Squirrel Hill on Saturday for rehab.Physically, he is great. Mentally, not so well. He has very lmited short term memory and is very confused. Not sure how long he is going to be here, but I am planning on bringing him to the track on Sunday for the State Qualifier so he can watch the races. He talks about the track all the time and really misses racing and seeing everyone. Thanks again for all the prayers and hopefully we will get him out of the rehab and back watching the races.
