Gas prices to Louisville

Hey all!
I went down to Louisville, KY this past weekend for some practice, and took note of the gas prices along the way. The cheapest gas that I saw was in Cambridge, OH... basically where I-77 meets I-70. At exit 178 on I-70 the gas at the Pilot station was 2.42/gal! This was also the price on my way back at exit 186 as well!
Gas near the track in Louisville was 2.67.
Diesel stayed pretty steady the whole trip. The lowest I saw was 2.89, but it was mostly in the 2.90's.
I'll try to list some more prices later. I hope this helps!
-Looking forward to the Grands! emoticon

Re: Gas prices to Louisville

As of last weekend, here are some more gas prices for the trip to Louisville: (It was a long trip... I needed something to do to pass the time.) emoticon
PA and WV gas prices on I-70 (off the turnpike) were in the 2.70's
OH gas prices on I-70 started out around 2.80, but abruptly dropped to the mid-to-low 2.40's (exits 186 and 178), and then stayed in the 2.50's (the low price being 2.51 at exit 122).
OH gas prices on I-71 fluctuated quite a bit. They started out around 2.60, but jumped as high as 2.79 at exit 45 (the low price being 2.51 at exit 19). Actually, at exit 69, gas was 2.54 on my to Louisville, but dropped to 2.42 on my way back home!
KY gas prices on I-71 were mainly in the 2.60's, but the lowest I saw was 2.49 at exit 44.
Again, gas by the track was 2.67.
Diesel, like I said in the previous post, stayed relatively stable in the 2.90's all the way across OH. It reached into the 3.00's nearing KY and into KY. But the lowest two prices I saw were also in KY. Exit 175 on I-71/75 had the lowest price at 2.79, and the next best was exit 78 on I-71 at 2.89 (the one I mentioned incorrectly in the previous post as the best price).
Diesel near the track was 2.94.
Please remember that these were the prices last weekend, and they could change any day. During this weekend last year, gas prices jumped some $0.30 in one day! Let's hope that doesn't happen again!
I hope this info helps someone. emoticon
See you in Louisville!

Re: Gas prices to Louisville

I was amazed at the gas prices. I'm positive I saw $2.33 somewhere along I-70 before Columbus in Ohio or on I-71 between Columbus and Cincy, but since it wasn't time to stop, I didn't.

I have to pull all my receipts to see what I paid on average.

On a more humorous note, is that what being in the big blue bus with 5 other racers makes you resort to? emoticon

It was good seeing everybody down in Louisville. Congratulations to you Dan, and to Tyler Chilcott for making your mains down in Louisville.

I know you had three (you twice and Tyler) and Westmoreland had 4 (Hunter Vogan, Jonathan Swanstrom, Jessica Baker, and JJ) in the Mains. I lost count with South Park. I know they had a bunch led by Kyle McCrory and Ben Desiderator both with 2, Damian Cherepko, PJ Gentile, Brandon Belajac, Brandon Yarnovich, Sinead Miller, Samantha Miller, Sydney Dunn, Mark Dolan, and Riley Evans,

We paid $2.31 in carrollton, KY on the way home. Seems strange to pay $2.30's for gas and being happy about it!
Had a great time in Louisville. I want to add my congrats to all of the main-makers and also those who didn't. It's a great accomplishment just to go there, race and earn a national number. We'll see you all at Charlie's in a few weeks to earn your state numbers. emoticon
