SOUTH PARK REBUILD
Hey this is Larry Hill the Assistant Track Director of South Park. I have been involved with the infamous track for the past 7 years and I have to say that the TRACK IS BACK!!!!! There is so many people we would like to thank for the time they donated to help with the Track Rebuild. I would like to formally thank the two man team who directed all who helped and made it happen. That would be Brian Gunzenhauser better know to everyone as "GUNZ" and his right handman Mike "Mikey" White. Gunz has been riding the track for YEARS AND KNEW WHAT THE TRACK NEEDED! We also had a hand from Bob Lablosse (sorry if i spelled it wrong Bob) who is a master of the Bobcat himself. without your help we would still be building. South Parks Stars and Stripes national is a HUGE EVENT within the NBL's schedule and this year we want to acknowledge BMX's introduction to the 2008 Beijing Olympic by having one of the biggest races this year. We are hoping for great media exposure and political exposure to help with getting BMX out to the public. We are also aware of the increasing crunch on the economy with the price of gas but trust me this is one of the races you should try and make. With the History of South Park and us celebrating our 30th birthday of operation we thought it would be extra special to make amends of bad press we got a couple of years ago with the negative press of our track being PERCEIVED AS dangerous. A lot of the bad press came because of riders coming into PA. and riding above their ability. South Park is a track that if you come in overconfident "IT WILL BITE YOU BACK" so to comfort those who have heard wrong interpretations of the track, trust me this rebuild was focused on the riders, and their input was crucial to the build from 5 years old to 50. If you are close enough to come practice before the National that will be held the weekend of June 27,28 and 29th we welcome you to come ride the track and also enjoy our new Skatepark. Our Gate Practices will be held Monday 6pm until 8:30 or until they kick us out, and we race every Wednesday. Reg. and practice starting 6-7pm and racing at 8pm (we have lights). This time I would like to thank all (trust me I can't remember all who helped so register @ BMXTALK.COM and put your two cents in how the track tunrned out).
I would like to thank personally though the Track Director George Brain, Assistant Track Directors David Wain and Myself for bringing back the nostalgia of SOUTH PARK!!!!!!!
