Happenings at Southtowns

This is what an officer sent to a volunteer.

Hello,

Well I do not know if Mark said anything to you but. Laura said that she couldn't get hold of people to work the mall (she never tried). I said that she contacted you and Dan said that she was under the impression the you could not be there SO Dan, Laura & Jacob are going to be the voice & face of Southtowns BMX at the mall for 7 hours.

You can put on the website that we are going to have a work detail Sunday cleaning out the garage & registration building all of us girls did not know anything about the Mall so that is what we decided to do Sam,Rose Mary and myself will be there at 12 so would you like to join us since you are busy and can not do the Mall ha-ha!!!. And since you did not get the information to put on the website about the mall how is anyone else going to know what a shame.
She is such an asshole

Laura sent Sam an email about the flyers and Sam asked her how many Renee wanted and she said she can never get hold of me. I know my boss at work doesn't let me tale personnel calls and I do not have a computer or a cell phone I live in the stone age
like I said asshole just wait until I get a HOLD of her (neck).
have a great day
Renee'
Instead of an apology she sent this.
well I guess you now know how I feel that email was meant for kathy so anyway
have a great day
Renee'
At Southtown’s it doesn’t seem to matter how passionate you are about the sport and the kids. Power is the main concern for the people who run this place. And what a shame because BMX is such a fun and amazing sport.

And how is this post going to help the kids???

Please don't air your dirty laundry on the Drake Well section. We had enough problems in the past because of forum posts.

If you wish to fight like 6 year olds, at least keep it on your own playground!!

Ya, what jeff said. If you post it on your section of the forums, we may let it slide, but not on every other section. And this isn't going to help the situation any.

My intention was not to air dirty laundry, but to make everyone who matters aware of th situation and get as much help as possoble to get these kinds of people out of power and away from the kids.
Its not right what they are doing and they need to be stopped.
I was hoping for help! Afterall it is all about the kids, right?

It's dirty laundry and YOU aired it - plain and simple.

Every track will have these problems eventually unless good and honest communication is kept up. This does not seem to be the case here as you have a power struggle with plenty of name calling and back-stabbing.

I've seen this happen at plenty of tracks before and they never end well. Eventually, somebody gets angry enough to quit and the sport of BMX suffers a little because of it. The others then pick up the pieces and life goes on.

Many tracks have a problem finding volunteers to help. It appears that you have so many that you are fighting over who gets to do it. Everybody needs to take a good and HONEST look at themselves and their motives. Is it really "all about the kids" or is it "Look what a great person I am" ?

Now "disgruntled parent" - ask yourself honestly. Was I really hoping to help out the situation or was I hoping to belittle somebody else by posting to the whole association their email that leaked out?

Finally, DON'T HIDE BEHIND A SCREEN NAME.
Sign your name at the bottom of your post. It will help keep things "out in the open" without just adding fuel to the fire.

The letter was intended for a certain individal and should never have been posted for public viewing. As others have said this does not help the track, organization or the riders. The officers that are in place at Southtown were voted in. Now is your chance to make a difference with the upcoming election on the 27th around 7pm. If someone feels they can make a difference or improve then you should run for a position. If you don't get involved or try to help make things better then you can't object to the officiers in place. Hopefully after this Southtowns BMX will be headed in the right direction.
