Orbs
Most people will tell you that photographing orbs are not a sign of paranormal activity. But rather, some form of energy.
I don't know if you've had a chance to check it out or not, but on the front page of the portal, I posted an image I captured yesterday. It is a bright blue orb.
Most orbs captured can be explained as dust, insects, lint, mist.. as well as various other non-paranormal things. It's really hard to say what a true orb looks like. I've seen photos of lint that give off the same circular pattern that some claim real orbs have.
But, one thing I've noticed, is that when our animals begin acting funny, to grab a camera. Most of the time I can capture what looks like an orb. As I posted on the portal, I noticed my cat was staring at the wall behind the couch.. being Thanksgiving, I couldn't help but think it could be "someone" visiting...
So I grabbed the camera.. Take a look at the photo, and let me know what you think.

Re: Orbs
It's an orb.
Not a doubt. That's another thing animals are sensitive to. I wonder...I know it's not true with our dog, if they have a clue as to what is on TV..ours just acts like it's not there. Not sure if being colorblind has much to do with it, but it just don't phase him at all. Have you noticed that?
I was on a site today snooping around, and they had a big section on orbs. Now I can't think which one it was. It's said that Ground Zero ( the result of 911=Inside Job) has many orbs.

Re: Orbs
I've heard that too.. and it wouldn't surprise me with what happend there.
As far as TV.. My cat Timber used to watch it.. usually during the funniest animals show.. he doesn't do it anymore, but he seems to be the more "perceptive" one.
Jack doesn't usually freak out about stuff like that, except that one night. The night we got our first EVP.... really quite weird.. he hasn't done that since.
One thing I wonder though, do you think they see orbs like we end up photographing, or something else? Do you think they see a spirit, or some kind of energy whirl.. ?

Re: Orbs
One more thing I wanted to mention.. the area where that orb was captured is the same area where we hear the footsteps in the house. I've also noticed when we hear them more.. there's usually something stressful going on, not always but it seems to coincide with it.
(forgive me if I've already posted this...)
One night, my son and I were sitting on the couch, and had just watched a dvd, and had turned the tv off, and were sitting there talking. Timber.. our cat.. came up and was sitting on the floor near the hallway, and he kept looking at the empty loveseat.. back at the empty hallway.. then he'd look over at us.. like... don't you see that?
Well.. I thought I'd try talking to it.. though, I was just really kind of messing around.. I said.. "Hello, why don't you come on over and have a seat with us.." and then we heard the footsteps walk right past us and Timber looked over to the "empty" loveseat..
My son freaked out and said.. is that what you hear all the time? I said yes, (this usually happens late at night while the kids are asleep.) I started shaking so bad, I couldn't even move. I know that wasn't our imagination.
We have several family members who have crossed over, and I don't doubt for a second that they visit us often.
I just think that it's neat that our animals notice stuff like that.

Re: Orbs
I think I'd have to side with your son, I think I'd be freaked.
The house we bought now, the wife of the man who owned it passed in the house, and from time to time there are things that happen...The wife notices them, but I don't. She keeps wondering if maybe she's trying to say Hi. Or maybe upset her husband remarried.
I think animals are just neat... With their extended abilities. Fred can tell if it's one of us or not coming through the door, and he knows wether he should bark or not. Very Cool.
And him waiting at the door...no matter if I'm on time...or 2 hours late, even more cool.

Re: Orbs
Jack does that too.. I even had a cat once that would sit on the arm of the couch, and wait for me to walk in.
Have you ever considered doing a recording in your house? You would be surprised! We were doing them quite often, and sometimes we captured some really good.. evp's.
Something weird...... today was my son's 12th birthday, and we caught another orb right before he blew the candles out. I had just lit them, and he sat down and we started singing happy b-day.. I snapped a picture, and caught one.. snapped another right after, and there was nothing there... took several more, and got nothing.
I don't think it's dust, or anything else, only because it is SO bright.. I'm uploading them to the P.C. right now, and I'll get it posted..

Re: Orbs
On a quick glance...you can almost make out a face, I mean a real quick glance. Wish I could do a quick look, and enlarge it at the same time.
It's never quiet enough here to do a recording. I get home just before midnight and can't go right to bed...then a few hours after, they start waking for school.
Monday though I swore someone got up to use the bathroom about 5am, but no one fessed up to it. I heard footsteps...the door close. I don't think I was dreaming that. To me...it was very real.

Re: Orbs
That's the kind of stuff we hear around here, and I know it's not the kids.. I haven't heard the footsteps in quite a while though, but lots of strange things seem to happen from time to time.
If you ever get a chance, and it's quiet enough, you should give it a try.. I'd love to hear it if you end up catching anything..
Kind of off the subject of orbs.. but this gets me thinking about something that happend a few years ago. I was cleaning a little dresser out, and was going to move it into another room, it only had 3 drawers and was fairly small.. but everytime I emptied a drawer, I found 5 pennies stacked together in each corner.. I opened the second drawer, and found the same thing.. by then I was giddy... I started yelling for my kids.. "come here...." and I opened the last drawer, and found four more stacks.. That was definatley something out of the ordinary, and couldn't be blamed on coincidence..
To this day, I think it was my father-n-law.. he collected coins, and started a collection for the kids.. I don't know how long they were in there, but it was a real treat to find them..

Re: Orbs
Wow... I would wonder how many pennies I could get, You know...like the purse that always had a coin in it to replace the missing one.
Seriously though...that would really be awesome, It could very well have been your father-in-law saying Hello. Did the dates have any significance? Did you check them?
My wife keeps talking about pictures being turned around. 2 weeks ago she felt someone covering her up while sleeping...little by little...strange things are happening here.
