deceased loved one shows up in my dream
about 3 days after my grandfather died july 3rd 1999, he appeared to me in a dream letting me know he was ok and that he will be watching over me.me and him had a close relationship. every so often he would come by and visit me. the room he died in was the room i occupied.he hated when i played my loud music and told me to turn it down all the time. well one day when i was blazeing the music a month after his passing, the volume started to turn down slowly till you can barely hear it. i thought maybe it was a glitch in the stereo system. even though it was brand spanking new. 3 months have went by and it happend again this time when i was listening to the music full blast on my head phones.so im just like wait a second if it was a glitch it would have happend more not wait again to do so 3 months from now.so i told my friend casper. yes his name was really casper and no he is not my invisible friend..that i think my grandfather is turning my volume down on the stereo. he just looked at me with stupidity. anyways about a wek goes by and the radio shows no sign of bad electrical work. me and casper were at my computer talking to some other people on aim when the volume started to turn down slowly.casper looked at me then the stereo then back at me and was like f that and left the room. i was like i told you.i told my father about it and he did not seem shocked about it. he told me the night he died he saw a glow in grandpas favorite chair. my grandpa would sit in his chair and smoke his cigarrets waiting for dad to get home when he was a kid.when my dad was locking the door before he went to bed he said he saw the glow of a puffing cig and a shadow sitting in the chair.

Re: deceased loved one shows up in my dream
Pretty interesting story. I don't doubt what happed at all. My son saw his grandfather (who was bedridden) the night he died. My son was not quite four at the time, and my father-n-law was dying of cancer. He had no hope at all, and we decided to bring him home.. that's what he wanted. Anyway, my son got up in the middle of the night to get a drink, and saw his grandfather standing at the sink. He said he was glowing blue.
The next morning about 5:00am, he passed away. I think he was in "transition". I know kids that age can usually see things, and they don't think much of it.. he didn't realize until he got older that it was impossible for his pa to walk, and now he understands that he had received a special message.
I too have also drempt of deceased family members. I think it is just their way of giving us some type of closure, and reassurance.

Re: deceased loved one shows up in my dream
My father-n-law passed away almost 10 years ago. I have never had a dream of him, but have had several of my husband who also passed away.
When my husband first passed away over six years ago, I had dreams of him often.. each time, he would say.. "I'm okay".. and I could see his eyes each time. This is what made me believe it was a visit.. (I NEVER see faces) over the years, the dreams faded, and he would be dodging me, I'd get upset and try to find him..
Saturday night, I had one of these dreams.. I woke up crying and ticked off because it was like he was playing hide and seek, after spending the entire day thinking about it, and talking it over with a friend, I believe he was telling me that he was "leaving" to go through the next transition. But he'd always be ... just close enough..
Well.. I spent a great deal of time thinking about it, and believe I finally "let go". I talked to him, and told him to do whatever he needed to do, that I understood.
The very next night, Sunday night, I dreamed of my father-n-law.. (I even saw his face) I was so happy to see him. He was a very reserved person and didn't speak unless it was very important.. in my dream, he told me to "sell the farm" (I believe he was also telling me to let go, the context of the dream I was trying to hold onto the family farm). I asked him to tell my husband that I loved him, and he said.. you tell him, he's right behind you.. I turned around and there he stood.. I saw his whole face, he gave me a hug, and I was full of joy and sadness all at the same time.
Anyway.. I just wanted to share this, because I think it shows a beautiful way that spirits can communicate with us. I don't know exactly how to interpret dreams.. but I think I'm learning. I think he's been trying to tell me this for years.. I feel that I now have a greater peace, and more of a connection.

Re: deceased loved one shows up in my dream
Those were some dreams.
And believe you took them the right way, in the correct context. I've had cousins ( and friends ) that have seen parents in dreams and have been very similar to yours, Saying everything is good, I'm here with Mom and she sends her love. And giving small hints of maybe what to do or not do. Whenever I hear of these things it just puts me in total awe, I really believe it is more than just a dream or thought. I do think it is a visit.

Re: deceased loved one shows up in my dream
I think so too.. I never drempt of faces until the death of my husband.. and I saw his eyes just as clearly as if he was standing in front of me. I had no doubt that he was sending a message.. ever since then, when I see a face clearly, I believe that is my way of identifying a visit.
I have tried to study dreams and their importance, but it is very difficult to interpret them.. I think the whole dream is what you really need to analyze.. but it only helps if you can remember them..
One thing that might help is to pray and and ask to remember your dream, and any symbols or images of importance.. I think the one's you remember hold the most significant meanings.

Re: deceased loved one shows up in my dream
Lately I've been having ( from what I can remember ) very strange dreams. Some good , some not so good. Some Scarey and some I wish would repeat or last longer.
One that sticks out the most of recent ones...for some reason I was feeling an alien greys head, it was cold. That's all I can remember.

Re: deceased loved one shows up in my dream
Maybe it wasn't a dream at all???
Was that one of the scary dreams, or did you feel more curious? I don't think I've ever had a dream of an alien.. but I have had some pretty creepy creatures.. I even had one once where I was chasing a monkey through the woods, and he was wearing bib-overalls.. and he was throwing rocks at me..

Re: deceased loved one shows up in my dream
I was thinking that too, Maybe I wasn't dreaming.
I couldn't remember if I was scared or curios...I only remember the cold skin.
A monkey with bibs eh? I could see the throwing rocks, they aren't all cute cuddly organ grinding monkeys, but the bibs...What a fashion statement.

Re: deceased loved one shows up in my dream
That's pretty interesting about the alien.. cold skin.. I don't think I've ever remembered a physical sensation.. only emotional.. I wonder if that means something? Was your hand cold when you woke up? I know I once was on stage singing..(in my dream.. ) and woke up with the radio going playing the same song I was singing in my dream.
I know there's a word for it.. but don't know what it's called.. like your mind is processing whatever you are actually experiencing in reality. But.. to me it's interesting that you could remember the feeling of something, what about the texture of the skin? Can you remember that as well?
Yeah, the monkey.. really freaked me out.. that was a really weird one.. I had another one where I was in this dark room.. kind of like a warehouse.. and my daughter was lying on a table.. a light beam came down and hit her, and she began floating up and levitating.. I remember screaming "you can't have her!".. I woke up pretty shook up.. believe me.. levitation is not in ANY dream book... still don't know what to think of that one.

Re: deceased loved one shows up in my dream
I honestly can't remember if my hand was hot or cold..I do remember shaking it though. And in all the ufo case files I've read, nothing was ever mentioned about their skin temperature. Maybe I'm on to something here?
Levitation in itself is kind of spooky when given thought. In most cases it's like the soul leaving the body, but when the individual is still alive what purpose does it serve?
It was big time in The Exorcist, but again...For what reason..or end result?
