Travis Walton
I'm sure you've seen the movie "Fire in the Sky"..(one of my favorites!) It's about the abduction of Travis Walton.
I'm curious.. some people claimed that this was an obvious hoax.. but I believe it really happend. What are your thoughts?

Re: Travis Walton
As soon as I saw Travis Walton, I gleamed...wanted to bring it up earlier.
It's the real deal, No hoax. The movie was fantastic, and inside the craft was awesome. Tell me if I'm wrong...or was I seeing it right...the classic grey image was strictly a space suit type thing, the real ET pictured was totally different. That was what sold me on the thought it is not made up...he didn't drink too much Coors Light.

Re: Travis Walton
I completely agree! I tried to read the book, I thought there would be more details that wasn't in the movie.. but I never could get through it..
But, the movie was awesome. The only thing is.. if what happend in the movie was accurate, that puts my theory about aliens not wanting to harm us out the window. I think they do have some compassion.. at least, I hope they do.
I found PDF files from MUFON about his abduction.. if you want to check them out, they are on my downloads page.
Pretty interesting stuff.

Re: Travis Walton
Well, I agree with you there. I've heard of so many different alien races.
I agree too with what you said about Betty and Barney Hill. That happend in a time when "abductions" were a very uncommon subject. I seriously doubt that they made it up.
I would like to think that most individuals are open-minded. But, you get so many pranksters that make stuff up all the time, that I guess I understand why it's hard to believe some of the stories you hear.
I think the government uses it as some type of cover-up. I actually think they hire people on the side to make up some wild claim to discredit other's who have had an actual experience.
Like I said before though, I think most people are beginning to think this way as well. That's why there are so many people investigating this phenomena as well as other paranormal experiences.

Re: Travis Walton
I'm not certain if anyone ever read the Wikipedia version of the Hill story http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Betty_and_Barney_Hill_abduction But after reading it, I truly think he had bejeebers scared out of them. ( Hope I got that link right )
Some stories are just to way out to even think of believing. I never gave much thought about the government having a department / crew / people creating stories but it is very possible. And a good idea, they do it to discredit, Why not do it to distract?

Re: Travis Walton
I looked over the links you posted.. (very good one's by the way) I've been to the Travis Walton site before, but I've never read the summary they have posted. Quite a bit different than the movie, huh?
I wish I could have made it through the actual book. It says there, that he saw three alien beings which he tried to fight off...then they quickly left. Then he was greeted by a human looking man. This human took him to meet three human looking beings.. that didn't speak at all to him.
I'm curious.. do you think they could all be aliens? I've heard that they walk amongst us, and can look exactly like us. I wonder if the three "humans" were really the three "alien doctors" he first saw. Do you think they can transform themselves to make us more comfortable of their presence?
They don't sound like they were so abusive as the way they portrayed them in the movie.. of course, hollywood always exaggerates actual events.
What do you think?

Re: Travis Walton
The entire thing comes back to the different species/races of aliens. The way I understand it is quite similar, the ones doing the examining and prodding are the greys, And the more human appearing ones refered to as 'Nordics' Blonde Hair...Blue Eyes, 6 to 7 feet tall & muscular. I'm thinking the Nordics come into the picture to be less frightening, And the Greys are the inquisitive ones...doing the inter-breeding and all. I'd not want to say if they are of a dying race...or if maybe we are, and they are trying to save us.
I think if they wanted to be that way...and annihilate us, they could, just as easily as we would flush a toilet. You're right though...Hollywood does exagerate and change things. I'm happy with The History Channel.

Re: Travis Walton
I agree with you there, I've heard of those possiblilites. It would make sense to me.
Some of the encounters that I have read, say that the "victim" did not feel any fear, though the experience itself was frightning. I don't think they are trying to harm us, but are trying to either figure us out, or help us in some way.
Maybe they are trying to save us.. or themselves.. from the more aggressive alien races..? The one's who seem to contact us the most are the frail looking grey guys, and if they are a dying race, maybe they are trying to create a hybrid.
I just found another interesting site, has lots of information on the different species: Non-Earth Born Humans
