Mirrors

A new twist. Back about 7 years ago I was driving from Wisconsin to New York. It was about 3am or so...you know how FM radio is only good for so many miles, well I got really tired of surfing so switched over to Art Bell. It was an awesome night, I was driving through Cleveland and it was storming and also the 1st time I saw red lightning. ( No, I wasn't that tired..it was really red ) Anyway, the topic of the night was mirrors. They rehashed the old thing about if you stare into a mirror long enough your reflection disappears. I've never tried that...I'd forget what I was doing. But after a few calls, there was a new twist. If you sit in a room with mirrors facing each other, and stare deep into them you see another dimension or world. I've never been able to try that as I've never been in a room that has mirrors facing each other. I'm very curious to know if that's some type of superstition ( Like tall buildings not having the 13th floor ) or maybe there is really something to this.

Has anyone ever tried or even known about this?

Re: Mirrors

Wow, I've never heard that before. But I have heard about meditating and staring into the mirror. With subtle candle light, you're supposed to be able to see spirits.

I have always been interested in ghosts, and spirits. I want so much to talk to a particular someone on the other side, but, the whole thought of that really freaks me out. Who knows who could come through.

I think seeing something in a mirror, that wasn't there, would be creepy. But, I've also heard about taking photographs in reflective surfaces like mirrors can actually sometimes capture apparitions.

I would like to know more about this, and like you, would like to hear the stories of anyone who was able to do so.

I think I too would be creeped out If I made contact with the other side. I think it would be extremely cool, but in the same breath...extremely strange.

On my Mom's side of the family they once found a long lost brother who skipped town to run away with some waitress. I'm thinking he was gone for some 25 years, they started doing things with a Ouija board and eventually got an address in Chicago...turns out he was at that address.

As a young kid I wasn't in the know, just knew someone was missing and needed to be found. When they brought it home the 1st time I thought gezze...send this guy back. He was strange and a poster child for perverted looking guys.

The Ouija board does work.

I'm thinking I'm messing with the order of things Shell...I probably should have posted this elsewhere.

The whole mirror think intrigues me, I've read much about them. You are very much on the money with what you mentioned too. With a low light candle and seeing spirits.

Have you ever tried the gazing...and not seeing your reflection? I'm thinking that would almost be a trance like thing, and that would have lots to do with it.

Re: Mirrors

As you can tell, I moved this thread to meditation. Seems more appropriate. emoticon

I know what you mean. I've never tried the mirror gazing, I've thought about it, but the whole idea of seeing something that's not really there, just creeps me out. I'd be more afraid of what would come through. Things are not always what you expect, especially trying to contact the spirit realm. I do believe if you are not trained into doing such things, you're liable to pick up any energy wanting to make contact.

That's not always a good thing. Especially for negative energies. I think they are deceivers, and they will make you believe anything, and use it to prey upon you. I wouldn't want to try to experiment with this unless I could really try to study it first.

But that's just me.. emoticon

I thought the furniture was moved around a bit, Almost tripped on the foot stool.

Wow...never thought much on the negative part, I'm the positive force in the universe, but you did make a very solid point there. When given thought one could really stir up a nasty can of worms without wanting to. That little thing about any energy wishing to make contact...kinda woke me up.

How though could you study first without experimenting??? Aren't they somewhat the same?

And BTW...anyone ever tell ya that you could be Scullys double on the X-files emoticon

hehehe.. notice the icon.. emoticon Just another fellow redhead searching for the truth.. !

I would prefer to read as much as possible, anything I could get my hands on.. other people who have tried it, research, that sort of thing, before I would ever dare to experiment.

You mentioned something about ouiji boards, that is one thing, I would NEVER attempt. I've heard so many stories, about bad things coming through, and I think it's a portal to any mischevious spirit just trying to make a connection. A good friend of mine used one and had a heck of a time trying to get rid of whatever she pulled through, they eventually had to burn the board, but still had strange happenings in their home.

But, that is my opinion. I know lots of people have used them, with no ill effects, but I'm not up for trying.

I don't know if mirror gazing is the same type of doorway, and I would be afraid to try, unless I really had confidence to know what I was doing.

But, I think meditation itself would bring positive results, and that is basically what you are doing while gazing.. ?? I still cannot bring myself to a full meditative state, and until I could, I wouldn't attemp this.

I will see if I can lookup some stuff on this subject, it is a very interesting one. emoticon

I've never had luck with a Ouija, neither good or bad, I think maybe because I didn't concentrate enough. I've heard much about them though, and it is enough to put in a little fear/respect for them. One thing I've never really found out though...I usually get side tracked, is how long have they been around? And an added question to that...who would think of creating something like that?

Yes...please do look up info, I'd be very interested, There's very little that don't interest me, except reality TV...and Volkswagens.
