Night Terrors
The last two nights, I have had very unusual experiences.. I don't think I'd call them night terrors, but I don't know how else to describe them..
I am dreaming.. (I NEVER realize I'm dreaming) but something scares me and I open my eyes, and I'm still dreaming.. and I REALIZE that the images in my dream are around me even while my eyes are open. I can't move and I can't speak.. the night before last, I feel asleep on the couch, and I could see something reflecting in a mirror behind me.. but in my dream it was coming through a door.. but when I woke up, it was in this mirror, and I tried to tell it to go away, I couldn't say the words. I was mumbling the words, and they wouldn't come out.. I kept forcing it out, I believe I scared my dog, cause he started barking.. (which he never does) and then I started freaking out thinking maybe he could see it too.. this lasted at least 5 minutes, and I felt like I was beginning to panic.
Finally, I woke up enough, and this thing dissappeared.. then, last night, I did the same thing, only this time, I saw someone walking through my bedroom, out the bedroom door.. it was not as scary as the first dream, but I was still unable to move.. I chalked it up as to being in between the dream/awake state.
On another note, I am studying for my bachelors degree in Metaphyscial Sciences, and have been doing alot of meditations.. do you think this could be connected, that maybe I was actually seeing something there?
I've heard the theory that people who see ghosts, or aliens by their bedside are actually experiencing this sort of phenomenon, but I am convinced that they sincerely believe this is happening to them, because from what I experienced, it feels completely real.
Have you ever experienced this?

I've never experienced ( That I could remember ) Any dreams. About the scariest thing I could ever remember was dreaming of being in a gravel pit at night and being shot. I woke up before I died I guess, but that one I think I'll remember always. I'm thinking I was probably 25 or so at the time.
As for yours... I couldn't say if you were experiencing night terrors, a dream or it really happened. I have this thought in my mind that if Jack started barking either it really happened and he saw/sensed something as well. Or while you were mumbling in that state it confussed him..scared him..maybe thought you were giving him a command and he started barking.
But like you brought up before...animals, especially dogs are aware of things we may not see or understand. Maybe this is the case?
You are probably dreading going to sleep almost.
Is your house newer or older?
And yes...I've read too where a large number of sigthings/abductions are the result of the individual wanting to see an alien...and think it to be true.
Very good point there.

The house is not very old.. (It is a trailer) but the land, I'm thinking holds something here, because of all the weird things that we've experienced.. my friend and neighbor lives in my mom's house, and she even has sensed some things,.. but she is especially sensitive..
The last week or so, we have noticed a few things.. it has been very quiet for several months. But yesterday morning I got up and the cabinet door on the entertainment center was open.. (I KNOW I closed it the night before).. I thought that was weird, but brushed it off.. and a few days ago, we heard the footsteps.. all of us.. we were all in the living room (near the hallway where we usually hear it) and it was around 6:00 P.M. and ALL of us heard it.. with the TV on..
Usually when we hear them it is late at night, and it's really quiet.
I didn't expereince anything last night. It is something very weird though, and it is frightnening.. (the mirror thing really scared me!) Jack has been very jumpy the last few nights, so I don't know if it's connected or not..

It must be somewhat loud, if you can hear it over a TV, Most generally it's tough hearing real footsteps with the TV on. ( Unless you have hardwood floors ) That's my complaint, I prefer the carpet because it's less noisy and easier to wake up to on winter mornings.
I'd be more concerned with Jacks behavior.
Have you done a history on the land? It wouldn't be on a long forgotten Indian burial ground...would it?
I think I mentioned once before, Maybe not, My wife is convinced the spirit of the wife of the previous owners who died in our house is still here. Just little things. And one of my Step-Sons and his friend heard noises/voices that scared the crap out of the both of them. He has a basement bedroom, and wouldn't sleep there for a week because of it.
I need to be more sensitive or something, either I'm not here at the right time, or just don't hear or sense what they all do.

Jack has always been kind of a scaredy cat.. but, you can tell when he really gets aggitated..
You know I've heard the footsteps off and on for several years now.. but for the past year.. we've not heard them as often.. usually around holidays.. (after my daughter heard them that one night, and said they were freaking her out.. they kind of stopped)
I think whoever it is is a family member (I'm thinking it's their father, or grandfather) I'm surprised that we did hear it, but mostly we feel it.. boom boom boom.. you can feel the vibrations from wherever you're sitting..
As for the land, I've tried to research it, and can't come up with anything.. except there is an old cemetery about 500 ft away.. it is VERY old and most of the stones have the tent style (civil war) burial.. (If you don't know what that is, I'll see if I can find photos) But anyway, this cemetary is a privately owned cemetery.. that is the only thing I can connect it to.
As for the dreams.. ?? I'm kind of confused, I'm guessing, that I was dreaming, and not fully awake.. it's something that I would not like to have happen very often. But, with the cabinet door and footsteps, who knows?

If they stopped, after she mentioned she was freaked, then they must be concerned about her well-being. If not..they would have continued with more intensity, as well as proximity.
You may be right... it very well could be their Dad or Grandfather.
500' isn't that far away. You can't do a land abstract or something like that? It would really be interesting to find out more.
Possibly it could of once been a type of Civil War death camp, or mass burial site.

That's a neat one though, I was surprised to see how they included Who was married to who and all. And that was the first time I saw the tent type markes, that is attention getting too. I wonder if maybe you could find more info if you implemented something like Family Tree Maker? The CD set I have, though old...has alot of info on them ( A sister of mine is huge into geneology ) And knows alot of data bases for getting info. The Mormons have a huge one.
Have you ever considered applying for a grant to get some high tech equipment?? That might surprise you. And for something in that field..might be easier to get.

Well.. since this seems to be like a family cemetery.. it is usually locked up, unless they have services there.. I have never actually been inside it.
I've only seen the gates open just a few times. So, I don't feel right about wandering in there.. The tent style markers are very interesting, and I haven't seen anything like that since I lived in Michigan.
That would be cool to get some of that equipment.. especially that FLIR camera that they use.. I'd sit outside and be staring at everything.. lol.. Most of the basic stuff isn't that expensive.. of course, I have a digital camera.. and recorder.. (I still haven't tried to make that "frank's box" ) That would be really cool..

I think you're doing the right thing, by staying out if it's gated. But I'd still be trying to do all I can on the outside to get any information I could. It just seems there should be some kind of land abstract or something on it. That way at least you would have some kind of idea how far it goes back. Maybe borrow a telescope or something, see what you could get off some of them.
I was thinking the other night about the scanner ( Box ) but like everything else, that thought just went away after 25 seconds.
