First Investigation

I am so excited, just wanted to tell you we are about to have our first "real" investigation. We've done several around the house, as well as local cemetary's.

We will be investigating a local church with reported paranormal activity this saturday evening. Claims of apparitions, as well as a little boy singing..I will fill you in on everything soon..

OK... I'm all ears on that one Shell.

Locally we have 2 places that are supposed to be haunted, An old church that is maybe a block away is supposed to be really haunted, And about a mile away we have the mother of cemetaries, It's where many famous people ( Susan B. Anthony ect are buried ) they have cemetary walks on Halloween, I've never been ( the down side of working nights ) but it sounds really interesting.

Sounds cool.. we've been to a place called swan pond in oak ridge tennessee..supposed to be REALLY haunted, though we never went into the church. What was really odd about that, is that there only is probably 10 members to this church, it's on a hill surrounded by trees, and looks really quaint in the daytime.. but at night, it's down right spooky. The windows on the main floor are boarded up, and the one's that arn't are covered... kind of strange.. We did capture what looked like a shadow person in the cemetary near the tree line's though..

I need to get my scanner hooked up and try to get some of my photographs on here..

One in particular is really quite stunning.. My family was visiting from Michigan a few years ago at christmastime.. I had 5 kids in my house, as well as 4 adults.. I've heard that childrens' energy tends to bring spirits close, and with them all being family.. christmas-time.. well.. it's not surprising..

We caught several photos with a misty film.. almost like smoke, but that's not what it was. Both my kids each had a disposable camera, and we also had a 35 mm. All three caught this strange mist.

One looked as if it passed right though my daughter.. well.. that is what REALLY intesified my interest in the paranormal. My childrens father passed away in august of that same year.

One of the photos, always caught my attention, but couldn't figure out why.. this past year, some friends of mine and I were looking at them with a magnifying glass.. we noticed that in one of these pictures with the mist.. there looked like 2 seperate faces.. With a beard, and mustashe.. FREAKED me out!! hehehe...

I don't know how well they will show up if I scan them, but it's worth a shot.. I'll see what I can do..

Get your scanner going Shell. I would love to see the picture. I'd also like to see one of the church, that sounds just as interesting. I'm wondering if it's more of a cult thing, the small membership thing gave me that thought. But it sounds so creepy looking. But...scan the one with the mist, Please.

I will see what I can do, I'll see about getting that up in the next few days.. (I keep saying that and it always slips my mind.. so you may need to remind me.. emoticon)

I think Swan Pond church is basically just a small community church, that is more or less.. forgotten.. that's kind of my impression of it.. not to mention it has claims to be haunted.. I guess not many want to attend a haunted church..?

Here's a direct link to Swan Pond church.. I was thinking it was in Oak Ridge, but it's actually Harriman TN. This is an older picture, we actually went there about 4 years ago, and it didn't look quite like this.. they may have fixed it up since then, I'm not sure.. I would like to go back.. emoticon

That didn't look to spooky, I was expecting something grey and weather beaten... Ummmm maybe something like the old house at Collinwood?

One thing I have noticed though, and really appreciate is the fantastic archtecture and design that went into older churches, Mostly they were huge and Goth appearing. I'd love to go through some of the real old ones...say in Germany or England.

I know what you mean.. there was one about a block and a half from where I grew up.. very interesting, indeed.

No, this place, like I said.. looked quite peaceful.. (in the daytime.. emoticon) but at night, it really seemed to take on a whole different feel.. even the area surrounding it was quite heavy..

OH.. on another note.. I tried to hook my scanner up today.. It is an older one, and I just couldn't get it to do anything. Guess it's seen it's better days. It's been up in the closet for a couple of years, and I suppose it's time to brake down and get a new one..

Maybe I can get some of these photos on CD.. I will try that next.. maybe take them to wal-mart or something..

Mr Tech guy here.... What did / didn't it do ( The scanner)? You have current drivers for it...or the install CD? It's for XP or 98? ( Either way it will work ) Is it USB??? My first scanner I ended up selling for almost nothing because I couldn't get it to work, then I found out I was doing it all wrong...I must have looked like a big old "Charm Pop" ( Sucker ) to the guy, Because he's still using it. That won't happen again. Now I know what I'm doing.

Scanners are a good buy now though...not like a few years back when they were a mortgage payment. And they do so much more now.

I love to go Garage Saling, ( that looks like a typo huh? ) And If I see a fairly recent scanner for $5 or so, I'll get it. Not so with printers though, refills are way to spendy. I learned 2 weeks ago from a CG ( Computer Geek ) friend of mine that with the amount of ink that comes in a cartridge, and what you pay for it...the ink is worth more than gold. One other tidbit that I never knew...the cartridges are on a sort of timer, When they run out they may actually still have ink in them. But the chip in the cartridge tells the printer that it's time is up.

Scam or what?

Scanner wouldn't do anything.. I know everything was hooked up the right way. But, it was an older one, and the software to install it on this computer was so old, that it choked trying to do it.. So.. I looked everything up online, and the driver for it was available for download, BUT they find that IE7 causes it to malfunction?? And to uninstall, and re-install IE7.. with more directions to "fix the problem".. aggh.. just aint worth all the trouble.

It also says the product I have is considered (EOL) which means "End Of Life".. no phone, email or support? (I've never heard of that.. )

Anyway.. think I just need a new one.. emoticon Thanks for the help though..

Re: First Investigation

there are plenty of places in houston you can invsetigate.but i have only been to the beeler family cemetary in katy,tx. the first time i was there i got nothing but only because i was there for ten minutes the second time around we were there for 45 minutes. and got some descent results. other investigators have been there before but only got orbs. im one of the few that have actual evp's.i seem to have a knack for attracting spirits. as long as they are there and you have a very open mind they will notice it and try to communicate.almost everytime i have picked up a recorder i have received something paranormal.too bad job corps is a government facility other wise you will be having but loads of information and evidence to work with.no one has even scratched the surface as to what is all there.alot of people there are into spirits but dont have the brains to go and buy a recorder.and half of them think the place is filled with evil spirits and demons and try to act like those people off of that prarnormal sitcom on cw39. where they go around hunting demons and other anomalies.they just have no sense.
